Wow. Put the crack pipe down. Looks like Frank's Innovator which would have been the first production boat. If it is, it originally came with 500 EFI's.

sonickevin95 03-18-2013 05:04 PM

Wow, this world is full of delusional folks.

Sunrocket24 03-18-2013 05:54 PM

Asking price is very high, but it is rare. It is a poker run edition hence the "star trek" doors. Would be better listing it as "Rare Poker Run Edition" with a lower asking price.

:lolhit: For sure!! I would get the same reaction if I listed my Rocket for 30K

125K is crazy!! Matt B has his 2012 XRT listed for 129K

mittens 03-19-2013 07:18 AM

those doors are crazy. BUT i like it better then just a normal poker run boat with NOTHING down stairs.

Knot 4 Me 03-19-2013 07:34 AM

All Innovators had the center seating and power dash to access the cabin. Nothing special about it.

Mentalpause 03-19-2013 08:45 AM

I don't think Frank paid much more than that for the first new one in 2004, although he got it discounted for helping with the R&D. The only reason the Innovators are rare is rarely anybody wanted to build or buy that set up. I remember when Frank felt like he had to give his away to get out of it. This asking price is nuts.

Sunny32SSR 03-19-2013 07:46 PM

This one is almost as good. Although he has come down $20k since last year....

That boat needs way more motor than that to run 75.

sonickevin95 03-20-2013 02:55 PM

What kills me is that there are lots of boats listed at super high prices. The market sets the tone, not the sellers if they really want to sell there boat. Theres lots of examples of boats priced well in this market, but way more dreamers. Sold mine in 4 weeks, craigslist for 3 weeks then powerboatlistings for just one week and bam gone.

$ 42 k buy price :) , you can still put some $$$ in upgrade's and still be way under the $ 100 k mark

fasthawk6 03-20-2013 07:04 PM

I do no some of the history of this boat. It was the first innovator and was the cover boat for power boat magazine. had the 500's in it and was sold less power and drives so the drives and power story he has listed is true.

Actually, I have found plenty priced right. At the moment I have a 5 week old that put my boating on the back burner for the season. That does not mean that im not a performance boating enthusiast and I will continue to be a fan and keep following the sport. Thanks

I've been watching this one to see if it sold and for how much. Nice looking boat. Is the owner a member on here? Looks like it didn't reach the reserve. Stalled at $36300

you might have put your boating in the back burner ,,,but you always have the time to go on all threads with boats for sale and lets us all know how they are over priced,,, just saying...

I don't think so V, boat looks like new and runs great. Tom maintains it with a open check book just like his fountain along with everything else they own.

Glad I am not the only one that feels this way about kevin's 2 year old rant!

BTW, the sunny innovator with the power hatch is still one of my favorite boats! I am seen a few for sale over the years, either the wrong time or wrong price. But for a while it was top on my list. Years ago I showed an ad for one to a friend and he responded "is that for when you get drunk and want to bring a fat chic back to the boat" haha. Just a cool unique boat!

They are cool. I had the pleasure of running on production boat number one (the one in the ad) on LSC when it was new. The GM pearl metallic that is the base paint on the boat really pops in the sun The first attempt at the Innovator was a running plug that had a huge, single step and a rounded keel at the stern (similar to a DDC hull). Wayne wouldn't let Frank (the eventual owner of prod boat #1) drive it at the rally as it was just too squirrely. Getting parts for the doors might be an issue if they break. I believe the switches used on the boat (encased in silicone or rubber) were also problematic.

That hull was eventually sold and put together. :poopoo:

Agreed!

I don't think it was as bad as PQ's first attempt at the 30, though. :evilb:

I don't believe I started the thread, just chimed in so direct your anger at someone else. Maybe the seller could use the advice that I and others gave.
