They are great like that. Good luck with your search. I really can't help with your origianl question since I've never been in the original Doninator hull (or the 6.2's) but I do love the way they sit in the water. I always heard they get up on plane quicker than the SS hull also.

Yes they do pop out of the water fast. Not sure how much fatter. My friend's SS jumps up pretty quick too.

Yes - My SSR would jump right up out at 3000 to 3200 rpm. It was pretty impressive but the guys at the factory always said the older hull was a rocket out of the hole but a few ticks slower on top.
