Bayley...transom pics

hey bayley,
i thought you posted a picture of you hyd. steering installation but i can’t find it? am i just looking in the wrong place? if you have more pictures of you installation i would like to see them also. and are we limited to inside mounting of the hyd. rams? or is there room out side of the drives?

Sunsation 32 09-09-2002 08:51 PM

I looked at mine and I dont think there is room for an outside instalation.

Not sure on the outside location possibility. It would be pretty tight. Try talking to the guys at WPM and see what dimentions they recommend. However, mounting on the inside of the drives is VERY easy on this boat since nothing is in the way and it's a giant flat surface to work with.

P.S. I've got most of boat pictures stored online at this location.

sunsation98 11-05-2002 08:50 PM

the left drive should have had the drive shower mounted on the other side? or no?

Kentz 11-06-2002 10:24 AM

No - Bayley's props indicate he spins "outward" pick-up is in the right place.

I never did get "hooked on phonics"

ps do u think he knows:eek:

I don't think the prop rotation really has much, if any, effect on the amount of water picked up by the drive showers. Besides, what would happen when somebody decides to spin the props "in". I guess it's personal preference where you want to mount the pickup. Looking back, it would have been "cooler" looking to mount the starboard water pickup on the outside, but I don't think it would work any better. Both drives kick up an equal amount of spray from the pickups.

I am also in the market for hydraulic steering for my Dominator. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Give Joe or Barry a call here at the plant, I'm sure they'll work with you, if not, let me know & I'll kick some #$%# for ya.
