32 hull difference
 

I am looking at two Sunsations both are 32' one is a 2006 the other is a 2008. I heard the hull was changed in 2008 does anyone know what these changes are and if a 2008 hull is preferred over a 2006?

I can't remember if any twin step 32's were built in '06 (besides the Innovator). In '07 and up a 32 would have the new twin step hull which has more freeboard in the cockpit. Prior to that was the lower profile, non-stepped hull that had ventilated chines. The decks between the Dominator (non-stepped) and the twin-stepped hulls were identical. Do you have pics or links you can post? The '08 will definitely be the newer hull but the '06 is the wildcard as that is right around the cut over from the older hull to the newer hull.

3 main 32' Sunsation (go fast hulls):

32 Dominator (older, lower freeboard)

32 Innovator (tall freeboard, with flip up dash panels, only a couple made)

32 Dominator SS (Legacy Dominator deck put on the Innovator taller freeboard hull; later models, probably the majority of what's out there)

Look carefully at the 2004 & 2007 listed sequentially on this site, and you can tell the differences. Ignore the windshield as it was an option on the earlier models.

And you can ALWAYS call the factory, and they are happy to talk you though what you are looking at.

OK, if the '06 is a twin step then the only difference between it and the '08 would be if the '08 has the small pad that Wayne added later on after the introduction of the twin step hull.
