What year? The pre-'05 boats were just a ventilated chine with pad. The '05 and newer boats were a true single-step and might also have notched transoms (can't remember for sure, getting old and forgetful).

They are great boats. I have a 2014 with a 502 HO, so a lil different, but she gets up on plane fine for me; tops out around 70-72mph pending weight. It's a light driver's boat, so it's more fun than past boats I've had. Cruises nicely at 45-50MPH at low RPMs.
I could be pressured into selling mine as everything is always for sale.... |
I bought an '06 288 MCOB with a 496 HO last summer and love it! I'm use to driving wake boats and cruisers, so this is my first performance boat and found it to be an easy boat to drive. It gets on plane well and on smooth water with 2 people, a little over 3/4 tank of fuel at 4400 rpm's I've seen 61.6 on gps with a 24p prop. It cruises low to mid 50's at low rpm's and gets pretty good fuel economy at that range. I've not really pushed the boat to see what it will really do as far as top speed with ideal conditions and low weight, yet. It's just as good, if not better, in chop and it takes rough water well too. I'm very happy with the boat and it performs great on the lakes around where I live.
