does anybody know what a 25 agressor will do mph wise
with these different applications?
502-stock
496 ho -stock
500efi-stock

i am just curious. im looking for a stock motor as a back up plan-
just in case i may have a problem!! i am looking for a stock motor
that all i have to do is put in the boat and will run 70. the 454 just doesnt quit have enough to open my eye lids like my turbo motor! but havent ever been in one with either of the three applications i have posted. any info would be appreciated

beyond that is anyone else going out of thier freakin minds since the boats have been pulled out for the winter? it was my first season with the agressor and i didnt want to see it put away!
i am not even excited for snowmobilingb this year!

I had a 92 25 ft. Aggressor and it ran a solid 70.2 on gps with a light load of fuel and cool temps. It had a labbed 25 merc. three blade. I had a labbed 23 on it and the best it would do was 67 to 68. It had a 454/330 in it. It was stock except for the carb. I think it had a Carter on it and swapped it for a Holley. It was much more user friendly out of the hole with the 23 though. Alot better fuel mileage with the 25.

Sun98,

THe speeds below are easily attainable in the 25 Aggressor

496 Mag HO 425HP 73 MPH plus
HP500 EFI 470HP 75 – 80 MPH

502 runs as the HO does.

I have a 94 Aggressor stock 502 and have run it as fast as 75mph on GPS. Good solid true speed full of gas gear and three people is 72.8mph. Gee, and its also for sale.

Next question is, what kind of speeds out of a Dominator with 502's? I am in the process of having motors built now.

Sunsation32, What model and CFM Holley did you use on your 330. Where did you notice the improvment over the spreadbore?
What RPM were you seeing at 70MPH with the 25inch labbed?

Thanks

Yeah, that's me!

Whiteknuckle,
I dont remember the specs. on the Holley. I think it was 600+ cfm and had been worked on, I also dont remember the jet sizes. It came off a 425hp motor. On my boat, stock 330, it didnt have the acceleration on the bottom end that the carter had. But, mid range to top end it improved it tremedously. When I had the 23 on the boat it would turn 5200rpm. When I switched to the 25 it would turn 4900 to 5000. I never checked to see how accurate the tack was but it sounded like it was twisting out of the stringers when it was spinning the 23 so Im pretty sure it was close to accurate. I opted to run the 25 so it wouldnt turn so many rpms. I gave up a little out of the hole, but it was nothing I couldn't live with. It would still come up on plane pretty quick with 4 people in the boat without using the tabs.

Sunsation 32,
Thanks for the info, It sounds like you had an extremely healthy 330. About 5100 RPM with a 25" pitch should put you in the 70 MPH range. When my engine was a stock 330 I could not get near 5100 with a 23 inch. Just shows the difference in engines I guess.

Whiteknuckle, It could have been the alttitude, or air temp, or even the prop. I dont think of it as being stout. After the carb swap it would just breathe a little better.
