Re: PX-5 on a 288??
Well I got my px-5 prop intime for the weekend, and after lots of running and experimenting, I've come to the conclusion that it's NOT a good prop for the 288 Hull. :( Although my cruising speeds were a little better, The faster I went, the worse it was. I also needed twice the trim to get to those speeds.
3000 rpm 42 mph px-5 3500 rpm 52 mph px-5 5400 rpm 82 mph px-5 3000 rpm 39 MPH Bravo 1 3500 rpm 50 MPH Bravo 1 5400 rpm 86 MPH Bravo 1 The px-5 might of reached the same top speed as the Bravo 1 at 5400 rpm, but the handling wasn't as good so I couldn't leave it there, or trim high enough to get it there. Unless I used the trailer button. I'm sure it could be modified to work, Maybe more cup for bow lift, But at a price tag of close to $1000 plus the cost of the modifications???? I will be calling today and see What Matt thinks. |
