Re: Wow

hey there

i owned a 97 dominator loved the boat. thought the world of their workmanship. moved up to a 353 formula and i have to say was every bit as good as the formula in terms of quality and workmanship. i have high hopes for the 43. time for another crocktail

Re: Wow

Ya love the styling ..not too many boats with built in platforms look good to me .. Ever had any quality issues at all ie: glass, screws coming out etc..

Re: Wow

Funny thing is theres a dealer at the end of my street ..they just built a new showroom this winter ..Never thought to look at them ..I still had a picture in my mind of the 24 I looked at years ago ..

Re: Wow

Ive never been one to buy new ..But I may be looking for one of those used ..Im a big fan of having the platform.. we do alot of swimming and snorkling .. The fountains are nice but pricey and starting to look dated

KN 03-10-2005 09:45 PM

Re: Wow

I have a 32' Sunsation and I couldn't be happier, the swim platform is nice, easy for the kids to get on and off. The Fountains are nice and very popular around your area. I think the Sunsations will catch on. I think a equally equipped 32' Fountain is more that a Sunsation. Same for the 29' Fountain I think is more than the 288 Sunsation. When I'm down in your area, I'll take you for a spin if you'd like.

Re: Wow

Mike, I trailer my boat, I can't find a place that will rack store a 32' boat. Thanks for the invite as well, I'm assuming you have a Pantera. Is it a 24 or 28? I would like to go for a spin, never had a chance to look at one up close, But Everyone speaks very highly of them.

Re: Wow

Havnt had a pantera for a few years now ..I have a similar 24 Carrera ..actually the same bottom mold as the pantera slightly different deck set up with twin outboards.. My buddy who I rent a dock space from has a 24 pantera with a 260..They are very well built boats but no frills ..narrow 7' beam , great in the chop but rocks alot when your sittin .Id pop a picture of my boat up but I just got a new laptop and nothings on it yet. I would like to step up to a 28-30 footer ..Would love to find a cheap cafe racer. However with gas headed up , tons of work to do on my house etc ..Ill probably hold off on a bigger boat .

KN 03-10-2005 10:16 PM

Re: Wow

Has your boat been for sale, I thought I saw an all white Carrera with a black fairing? windshield? for sale somewhere. Silversands also had a red Carrera ss8 ? for sale a while ago it had twin 350's and was around 26-27 feet looked like a nice boat.

Re: Wow

Pantera 1, the Dominator that Mentalpause has for sale is a beautiful boat, it would be a good one to get ahold of. I bought a '04 Dominator last June and have been extremely happy with the boat. I was a diehard Baja man and got tired of having a boat just like everyone elses. The fit and finish of Sunsation is as good as anyone elses as far as I'm concerned, and their customer service is incredible. Good luck in your search!

Thanks Scott, I may have to come out and ride on yours this summer now and then just to remind myself. I've got a feeling that if I even get the F4 it will be very late in the season. We will see. I am heading up to the plant March 21 to see how it is coming along, and take some new pics. Latest news is the bottom is getting a change. The new pics will show you the changes.

Are you going to the Sunsation rally the last weekend in July?

John you are wecome anytime. The changes on the bottom sound exciting, but how much time is it going to take? I probably will not make the rally, we will be at LOTO the last week of July.

I think the bottom changes are pretty much already made. Not sure about a date yet, still hoping by late summer.

I think David is thinking about organizing a Sunsation owners get together at LOTO in Sept. I know they will try to have it there if that gets organized.

I'm still hoping for the Shootout. I don't think it will be ready for the rally, but that is just my opinion at this point.

John
You should organize the rally this year, it will give you something to do :D
If it is in the Ozarks I might come and crash the party :evilb:
Seriously though anytime you want to come out let me know, I will be by myself alot this year since the misses is due in July. I will have Cathy help keep in touch and let you know what I'm doing as the weekends come along. I know we are planning a couple shellbyville runs, Ozark runs, and as always I'll be out at the pond alot. Just keep in touch and let Terry know that if he wants to get out to Clinton he is also welcomed. :drink: :drink:

John, The rally in LOTO in September might be doable, depending whether or not I'm in the field. I can't imagine how anxious you must be to get your new ride. But, one thing is for certain, if I know Sunsation, it will be perfect when you take delivery of it. Have you decided on power, colors, interior, etc.? Sorry Rich, you'll have to ride with me if you want to go. :evilb:

WE luv our sunsation, my little 25 w/ a warmed over 454 mag runs 72-74. & if Mental ps boat was still for sale next year i would be very interested in it ,not in the cards right now wnted a 288 but wifey said maybe if we wait another year we can swing a used 32 we will see! They build a great boat and their cusomer service is second to none. Mental p we will be at the ozark rally if they have one, we are going to the one at mtro beach in detroit had a blast last year!

Mentalpause 03-14-2005 07:47 PM

Re: Wow

Trimman - we will be at Metro Beach. We go every year early. We get in on Thursday, visit the plant bright and early Friday morning, around 6, then usually pull one of the factory boats to Metro. We spend most of the rest of Friday setting up.

Last year we were the bad guys running around in that 38 Fountain. I'm hoping that even if the F4 is not ready for the water, Wayne may want to pull it out to the park. I'll just have to sit in it and have a few cold ones.

Heck, it my dominator has not sold yet I may have to take it out that day.

I think your wife has a good idea to consider a used 32 instead of a new 288. You would be happier with the extra 4 feet, and especially with the 2nd engine.

How would you rate the Sunsations vs. Sonic? A friend of mine is considering becoming a Sunsation dealer and I just haven't been around them at all. I'm a current Sonic 2004 31 owner and love its roungh water abilities!

Probably best not to try to compare these two. Both great boats. Sunsation quality is outstanding, factory support is even better.

Sonic is a heavier boat, likely crushes the waves a bit better, but I've never owned one.

Sunsation is a good rough water boat, but it excels at performance and manueverability. I believe the new Dominator is around 1000 lbs heavier than the old one, but I have not seen the weight specs on it yet. Given that the rough water ride will likely improve. Speed improved also with the new bottom.

Re: Wow

MentalP just saw the price reduction on your boat , now were talking! A fellow memeber here could be selling his 99 27' fountain w/ a whipple and teague built outdrive 85 mph boat low hours and awesome graphics i am going to talk to my banker on monday to see what i have do and get for my boat 92 25' sunsation aggressor w/ a newer 454 mag to make some kind of a deal happen on either boats ,if i can finance for 15 years i think it could be doable, i just can't handle a huge payment right now . My credit is i not as squeaky clean as it should be!
