Re: Lucas Oil current points leader
Ok, this is what the SBI rule book says.
The National Series classes will be powered by Custom and Exotic built Unlimited Horsepower engines & Mercury, Innovation, & SBIP/APBA sealed National Series racing engines. The boats are equipped with canopy systems for added safety for speeds well over 100 MPH. Our Factory Series™ Classes consist of Mono hull design manufactured offshore boats that are sold to the general boating public for recreational use. They will be powered by Mercury, Volvo, Innovation, or SBIP/APBA sealed Factory engine packages to showcase the marine manufacturing industry’s best boats and the highest skilled race teams in the US. APBA Offshore Racing.1.12.1. Certification and Sealing - To be eligible for competition in these classes, all individual engines of the approved type listed in paragraph 1.12. above, first must be certified and sealed prior to competition byan SBIP / APBA Offshore approved source in accordance with the then existing procedures established by SBIP / APBA Offshore, with the “approved” seals as supplied from SBIP / APBA Offshore. IT IS THE RACERS' RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THEIR ENGINE (S) INSPECTED AND SEALED BY an SBIP / APBA Offshore approved source. If for any reason a seal is broken or the engine must be “freshened” or repaired, the engine must be examined, repaired, serviced and re-certified by an SBIP / APBA Offshore approvedsource. Broken or missing seals will be grounds for disqualification and other penalties. Currently the ONLY Approved Sealing & Servicing Center is: Innovation Marine 8011 15th St. East Sarasota, Fl. 34243 Phone: 941-355-7852 Fax 941-355-6791 Tyler Crocket 4600 Brott, Ruby MI 48049 Phone: 810-531-1809 Mercury Racing N 7480 County Rd “UU”, Fond du Lac, WI Phone: 920-921-5330 OK, so Mercury is on the list, now can someone explain why they were DQed? |
