I'd go Stock outboard cat if I were going to buy a race boat.

why replace powerheads every race?
catlite
change oil every so often
and race all the time.

I raced 9 races in 06 on one set of powerheads and 5 this season on those blocks...... Most guys in SUPERCAT 750 or 850 spend $25,000.00 per race........

I too raced the whole season without a rebuild, and the rebuild at the end of the season was 5K. there is no need to change power every race.
