JBS Racing

Wondering if JBS will race at key west???

It would be awesome to watch Aqua-Maina, Miss Geico, and JBS race together for world championship since 3 of them have the same boat, same engines but who will come out the top winner of 2009?

Jeff posted eariler that he is done. Pulling power out.

JBS-key west

JBS racings status is that the new Mystic is still being rigged and should be done in time for Key west.We are working franticly to find sponsors so we can continue to kick some ass. Please understand that I completely lost 1.5 Million dollars with the loss of my boat and am not eager to risk it all for nothing-so sponsorship is the only way that JBS racing will be able to continue racing.
As far as the post-it was more or less an attempt to light some fires under some asses.I never said anything about gas engines-however there is some exciting new technology being developed in the way of mega power, light weight power. Its just 1 of many ways that JBS racing continues the search for better, safer, faster equipment to use.
You can count on the fact that JBS racing wont be waiting aroung for people to break-we will always be pushing the envelope and trying new things-weather its hulls, power, communications, trucks, trailers, etc.
Good luck to all teams-hope to see you there

BRUCE SEROFF 10-07-2009 09:40 AM

i thought you said in a post, last week, you were done racing. Has your mindset changed?

Wahoo ATV 10-07-2009 09:46 AM

I'm getting confused.

Sean H 10-07-2009 09:54 AM

Hey, he got your guys attention and they haven't raced in 6 months, I think that was the point.

JBS 10-07-2009 12:42 PM

Jbs

You are confused because you can't read

No. We all read "JBS calls it quits". But what you meant was ... "JBS calls it quits ... for now" right? :party-smiley-004:

No. I can read, and you did post that JBS Calls it quits. I'm also confused because you posted that Mystic stood behind your boat, but it is cost you $1.5 million? Many of your posts contradict your previous posts or are miss leading.:bsflag:

JBS 10-07-2009 02:38 PM

whatever

Just a couple things-
A- the post "JBS calls it quits" is gone.
B-it is explained above what that post was for.
C-I had about 1.5M$ invested in the boat-now its gone (thats a 1.5M$ loss for those who cant figure that out (ATV))
D-Mystic did stand behind the boat (probably the only boat manufacturer in the world that has done so). However it then did cost me 100K$ for the new hull and then 125k$ to rig the new boat.
So you are right-it wasnt 1.5M-it was 1.725M$ in total to replace the boat. The only problem now is the Typical OSOers that add confusion to everything. The only thing Ive done is open my heart and wallet to try to live my dream.Stuff like this makes me wonder why I even bother trying.Ive had alot of ups and downs, met alot of great people, risked my life (many many times).Maybe Im retarded-most peolpe would of quit a long time ago.I have a great passion for boating and racing.Theres plenty of other ways to risk my life and get my adrenaline fix other than this.So Im not sure why anyone would be shocked if I stopped racing boats-however Im still trying-I just dont have any more money to waste on it-so we are looking for sponsors. With some money and a working boat JBS racing is an unstoppable force.Ide race a P boat if I had to but its hard to after being in the Mystic.Ive accomplished a lot and am in a very small group of people that have ever gone that fast in a boat and an even smaller group of people that have turned a boat that fast.So sorry for the "confusion" but you have to understand my fustration with the whole situation. Its hard to tell if anyone even cares if we race again (including myself).Does anyone care?

rchevelle71 10-07-2009 03:16 PM

Since you still have a $1.5M boat, sounds to me like your out $225K by my math, but who knows, Florida doesnt have the best education system:grinser010:

And as far as who cares if you race or not...............

It would be nice to have as many teams as possible out there, including you, but if you need to get out for yourself, then do it, we wont be upset.

JBS 10-07-2009 03:33 PM

wasted time

well I guess I havent lost anything but the time Ive wasted

If Mystic stood behind the boat why did you have to spend $100K for the new hull?? and then another 125K to rig??

MIAMIBOYZ 10-07-2009 03:57 PM

Jeff,

Good luck to you.... 99.2 % of us dont have the chance to say that we spent 1.725 mil on a boat. So with that said, I appaud all your efforts to get a boat rigged in time to race in Key West. You should put a banner on the side of the boat that says MISS ALLSTATEand email it to the marketing dept. for a sponsorship. Again, good luck to you and your team............

OSS is gone shut up .

JBS 10-07-2009 05:22 PM

Thank you

Its realy great to finaly have a bit of support-its incredibly helpful to me.I think anyone that has had a boat or raced one could relate.Thank you
As far as the 100K goes-it was to complete the build on the hull and get JBS racing out on the circut as soon as possible.Even though it wasnt given to me it was still an incredible gesture by Mystic-the hulls sell for over 500K.
The 125K was to derig the old boat and rerig the new one.It has nothing to do with Mystic.Obviosly there was alot ruined by the salt water.
I am greatful for the deal I got.But now I have no money to opperate on my own with so I at other peoples mercy and its no place to be.I am fustrated by the possition Im in but am trying to everything I can put it all behing me and move on.
Anyway-thanks for the support-it means alot

DriverofDonzi 10-07-2009 05:23 PM

JBS,

Do not give up your passion on boating and racing. Do what you love to do: Racing! I understand money is always expensive to all of us...Including myself (esp I got laid off recently) But do what you love to do.

I understand that JBS posted "JSB calls it quits" is probably because JBS wanted Mystic Company to see since it has been a while since last time JBS raced. Who knows..Maybe that is my thinking.....I am pretty sure that JBS knows what to do.

Chris

Shawn4013 10-07-2009 06:42 PM

Rig it and Race

Jeff,
There are thousands of people that want to see JBS race in Key West. Let people see what you and that Mystic can do and then you will know that people care if you race or not.

Wahoo ATV 10-07-2009 06:43 PM

Since you seem to be offended by my pointing out your inconsistent posts, I apologize. May be try a different tack with potential sponsors and not air dirty laundry in public. I honestly don't think anyone cares how much you have "lost" on racing and if I were a potential sponsor that would be something I wouldn't consider a selling point. Nothing personal, but it is only a hobby for wealthy people not the end of the world if there is one less boat.

BRUCE SEROFF 10-07-2009 07:01 PM

Maybe you should consider racing in a more affordable class. I mean no disrespect, but to be blunt...you blew your load triyng to look good. Now you have no cash to prove how good you really are. Who am I to tell someone how to spend their money? I've been racing for a few years and I know how tough it is to race, when short on funds. Suck it up . No one is gonna feel sorry for you. We all have our own problems. Sit out if you have to, and come back when its financially possible. But please dont come on here crying the blues that you have no money to race. I wish I had that kind of cash to spend on a race program, but I dont. I race in a class I can afford. If my boat sinks tommorrow, I know I can afford to build a new one. Would I??? Thats debatable. Good luck, whichever path you choose.

TeamTaboo 10-07-2009 07:41 PM

Jeff good luck with finding a sponsor, we sat out all of 2009 hoping to put together a program for 2010. Just keep knocking on doors.

byrideroffshore 10-07-2009 07:56 PM

Should of built a SUPERCAT and u could of raced for 6 years...not to mention compete against guys like Steve Curtis.
Just a thought....hope to see u guys in KEY WEST

Bill get thing ready ,that will put 8 at the start....,

Jeff we all care, just seems like u went down the wrong path to do it for many years...keep up the spirit...I have a concern for many racers whether i like them or not..in the end we are all RACERS at heart

Dean cute flagpole...hope my post dont get that...u doing kw?

JBS Crew 10-07-2009 07:56 PM

There seems to be a misunderstanding of JBS, Jeff has put almost every hour of his life the past 3 years into getting the JBS Racing program assembled and operating. Now, many of you may think he is some rich guy just out to show off and have fun, that is wrong. Jeff put all his faith, life, and money in the hands of some of the most respected and technologicaly advanced companies in the marine industry all in an effort to bring the fans the very best of offshore boat racing. The team consist of people who volunteer because they all love and respect Jeff as a friend that would do any thing for any one of us. Boat racing has been a lifelong dream for everyone on JBS Racing for our entire lives and to have it end in a blink of an eye was very dificult for everyone involved including the companies associated with JBS. We are all working very hard to get back out there and help build the sport of offshore racing. So please lets keep this in mind when you judge Jeff as a person. If or when JBS Racing gets back out on the race course I envite everyone to our dry pit to personally meet Jeff and see that he is very open and fun loving.

youre class races three times a year , you only show up for one . if youre boat sinks it will be on youre trailer due too global warming .
you obama guys crack me up .:lolhit:

JBS 10-07-2009 08:43 PM

thanks again

Thanks again guys-Im realy not here to sing the blues-Im just trying to explain the situation Im in.I dont know what to do if I cant race.Yeah-theres other less expensive things to race but its not my vision and I know it wouldnt be as fun or satisfying.I do enjoy the fans and taking the time to meet them and show them what I have-I do this not to show off but because I know how it is to get completely ignored as a fan.Maybe I dont do or say all the right things-Im just a normal guy.Ide much rather die at 200mph than have it end like this.

1HYPER1 10-07-2009 10:05 PM

Put piston engines back in that boat and get away from wallet racing and that is a start.Turbines are cool but very expensive and you are relying on two or three different people and there buisnesses to keep them running, super charged will go as fast with alot less BS.See you in Key West.

DriverofDonzi 10-08-2009 09:18 AM

JBS,

You coming to St Clair 2010? If so, let me know and I'll come and meet you.
