Tony,
I take it this is your Y2K. The deck is completely done and is in the mold. Hull is layed up as you can see.

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

Why does the coring look so much different than on some of the past boats? Is this one all cored?

SUPERSTITIOUS 07-11-2005 07:09 PM

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

Its not cored yet...

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

This hull is a basic "Old School" layup. It will be Balsa cored from the chine down. The hull sides don't get coring in this layup.

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

FX, Your so called old school layup is probably the way most boats are built today. Including Eliminator, Ultra ect... So Not really old school when most consider it current production standard.

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

Folks,

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and special thanks to Rick for sending the pics. My fiance' saw the pics and she said "That's it???. You're paying $$$$$ for that??. LOL!! I still haven't heard from JC on the deposit so the hull isn't mine.. yet.. But I'm hopeful. My plans are really quite simple. 496 HO, race mounts, tabs and steering upgrade. Everything else being stock. I'm going from an 89 23' Checkmate to an 06 Superboat so I need to do some cost control. I have a lot of discussions ahead with regards to wiring for sound and some other stuff I may want but I suspect I'll be pretty bare bones. I'm trying to keep things in perspective but seeing the hull does get me revved up a bit!

Looks good. Has there been a Y2K with ITS yet? I would consider that as an option.

FASTERDAMITT 07-11-2005 08:16 PM

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

OH-ZONE has ITS and I think John Carey's boat.

Thanks guys. It must be the angle the picture was taken at. It looks like brown core mat on my PC.

Re: The Superboat Story Begins

Here's the "WHOLE" story.
I put the one in the mold out there for sale. There were 3 bites.
The first was from a guy in Florida, then you, and a guy from North Carolina.
I asked JC this morning " John, I thought this hull was for sale ?" His response was " I'm keeping it for a display model to take customers out in". So it's JC's. Hey !! He's allowed to have a Y2K too ya know.
Here's a tip for ya. The guy that wants the next one never gave JC a deposit. Know what I mean. That means your hull could be started in a month !! You know the old saying " Cash talks, Bull**** walks" As I said, JC didn't get a deposit for the Yellow boat yet. It's up for grabs.
You didn't hear it from me ;)

Rick
