Re: Twins spotted in MD
Can the water get any flatter. Did the black boat come from Long Island. Almost bought that boat a few years back. The owner was not happy going 85 so he bought a 24 skater.

Superbabi you should make a date and come down, gassticks can show you the nudist group that sails on a big o'l catamaran in the upper part of the bay. dj |
Re: Twins spotted in MD
The guy who had the black 24 was running 2.4,s and spinning them around 8000 rpm spinning big pitch cleavers. At the time my pantera was touching 80 and he would go buy me every time but only in calm water.
|
Re: Twins spotted in MD
2.4 245's turning cleavers probably would touch 85, i ahve been toying with the idea of getting a set of cleavers to try but i heard they are only good for top end nothing else.
what do you guys think? dj |

dj DJ, your boat looks great!!! :drink: |
Re: Twins spotted in MD
That black 24 with the orange and yellow stripes was mine. I had it for 4 years. Got rid of it Nov. 2004. Boat was run in Long Island. Mostly in Bayshore Islip area, also alot of time at Fire Island

Re: Twins spotted in MD
Frankenstein Did you buy it from a guy in amityville? He did have the skater at the same time as the superboat. The skater only had 200,s when first purchased.
|
Re: Twins spotted in MD
Nope. I bought it from an older guy from Islip. He was terrified of the boat. He bought the boat from White Plains. When I sold the boat it had some hull damage. I was giving a potential buyer a bay test and I really pushed her hard and I re-opened an old fiberglass repair that I didn't even know was there. So I reduced the price and unloaded her. I now have a 30 ft Scarab Sport, but I still have Superboat in my heart. The 24 with twins was a little sloppy in our bay.

Re: Twins spotted in MD
where was the hull damage? Was it a crack on the bottom? They had found that when the boat was repainted?

Re: Twins spotted in MD
did you trade it in at thrasher marine??
dj |
Re: Twins spotted in MD
Yes I did trade it at Thrasher. The damage was on the bottom, on the port side. I was told it had a broken stringer and that the whole floor had to be cut out to fix it correctly. I don't know if thats true or if it was fixed properly or not. I already had the deal done so I just took some money off and went on my way. I guess you have the boat now in Maryland. Good luck with it. I know I had a lot of fun with it. Did you keep the same motors?
