How much does a Y2K cost?

FX10 On the SuperBoat Web Site it list the special pricing on a Y2K at $ 51,300 and $ 32,900 for a bare hull but the date is 2004. I was wondering how much how one would cost with a lightweight blueprinted hull, full hydraulic steering. I have my own power so is it cheaper the get one with a 496 and take out, or get a fully rigged boat less power? Do you have a ballpark on what this may run or should I call the factory?

Thanks Kirk

Hey Kirk,
Are you the fellow with the 30' Tempest I/O hull with outboards?
I don't think you will get Rick to comment about pricing on-line; it's probably best to talk to JC.
I can tell you that I did visit John @ Superboat recently with similar questions though.
A basic 30' Y2K with a 496HO, Bravo drive, K-planes, and race engine mount is about 60K.
The same boat fully rigged with an engine, drive, and gimble that you provide to him is about 45K.
Bare hull with interior is about 35K. With the race hull +4K...
Full hydraulic steering, blue printed hull, and... I couldn't tell ya.

Re: How much does a Y2K cost?

This is the THIRD TIME I'm typing this !!!! Optimum keeps crapping out !!!

Kirt,
As far as I know, John is asking 35k for a standard layup and 40k for a lightweight layup. We just got hit by the increase in resin which is a by product of petrolium.
Blueprinting ?? You have your choice. A flatboard blueprint , which goes for around $ 1,500.00, or the FX special blueprinting job, which is $ 4,500.00. The FX job gives you more bow lift. Both Superbabi and Oh Zone have the FX blueprinting job, and are very happy with it.
Power. Here again you have your choice. If I were you I would order a Y2K rigged, minus motor. Or you can be like Tom (Fasterdamit) and order the Y2K fully rigged, then pull the motor and sell or swap it. We'll basically do what you want. Thats why peoply go to custom builders.

Rick

Hey FX10,
Has Anyone asked if you would build another Y2K like fasteddies?
His boat was built with inserts in the mold that extend the notch in the transom up to the chines...
Looking at pictures of his boat running and hearing the top speed numbers he is getting, it may be worth looking at.

I don't think so. Eddie also had a major blueprint job to go with the notch. I think the first step was also filled in, but I might be mistaken.

I may be mistaken, but I think Eddie told us in the Superbabi thread that his boat was not blueprinted. Just the larger notch and higher K-plane location. I'll see if I can find the picture...

I'm going by what I was told by Bob. You could be right.

Re: How much does a Y2K cost?

Thanks for all the replies, Pat it's not me who has the I/O boat with outboards. I have a 32' boat with twin big blocks, with the cost of fuel, insurance etc. i'm thinking of going back to a 27-30' single engine boat. Are there any of these boats in the Connecticut,Massachusetts, New Hampshire area

Thanks Again, Kirk

Yup,
SB30 (Scott) lives in Mass.
Oh-Zone (Gary) lives in CT.

I found the shot of the notch in fasteddies boat.
FX, do you think this helps with bow lift?
