Y2K / Outboard
Hey Superboat Guys and Gals...
Could the Y2K be powered with a single outboard? If so what do you think it would run? Just wondering. Anyone have any pics of an outboard powered Y2K? |
Re: Y2K / Outboard
Yes it could. Would probably do around 60 with a single 250. JC wants to make a center console Y2K w/single engine package. He feels it would do in the low 60's.

Re: Y2K / Outboard
The only one is in Freeport. We sold it unrigged, so we don't have any pictures. George Yurick said he might be able to find some. Maybe he'll pop in.

Re: Y2K / Outboard
Curious!?!.....Would the outboard(s) be bracket or transom mounted? Also, can the cockpit be lengthened (shortening what would be the eng compartment) with the outboard(s)??...........Jason

Re: Y2K / Outboard
The 30 Is Too Big For A Single Outboard In My Opinion. It Was Built Many Years Ago With A 3 Foot Notch To Run A Single V8. If You Where Going 60 Mph In 1980 You Where Going Fast. Twin 200,s Has Been The Power Of Choice For The Older Tempests.
