Mike, won't the X dimmension play a big role in the Hering prop? If you don't raise the X, are you going to see any improvement? But then, maybe most Y2K's have to high of an X anyway. :eureka:

When Tim had his 525 Y2k he added a 2" spacer with no improvement on speed.

I would like to spin a Herring next year, until any HP upgrades are made that prop is the way to go.

Perhaps there will be a herring in his future.

I thought OH-Zone would have chimed in on this thread by now. I do believe he bought a P5X and is in the middle of dialing it in with Throttle up. Last he told me was the slip numbers are down from with a B1, but the speed is not up.

I am surprised because Jcap reported that his boat was 3-4mph faster with a P5X right out of the box.

Speaking with T-Mone, he told me his 24' Pantera was also faster with a P5X than 4 blade props and the same top speed as a 3 blade. T-Mone's reasons for laying out the $$ were more about the rough water handling though.

I tried a P5 and saw +5 mph at 4000 rpm and +3mph at WOT on the same day, same conditions. It's where I'm headed, but after a 1" drive spacer gets added. JC says the X dimension is right-on, he has played with raising and lowering 1". Jcap saw improvement with 2" spacer at speeds in the 90's. We've all said the Y2K needs bow lift, so I'm going to add some next week and I'll post the numbers before and after on a Bravo 1, after the weekend of Dec 11th........if all goes well - stay tuned!
