I don't know how strict they are but I read the rule book once and they used a calculated ratio of prop size, gear ratio and HP. To make sure your in the right class.
I just spoke to Brian Devlin (AMF Lavey) this morning. He is eager to see us out there on the race course. :evilb:
I think Brian and I may do business.

Business as in Racing???

If construction stays strong through 2006 I can see a chance of racing next year. I would like to have a boat by the fall so I can dial it in over the winter/spring if racing is in the future. Funny how after I had a few conversations with JC over the last month, the idea of using this boat for anything other then racing or poker running is the only 2 things left that make sense.

Pending issues to solve/get done

-canopy's need to be made still
-motor is still in cali
-Figure out the seat setup (I want something highback)
-trailer???

I know Brain is a rep right? Who do I get in touch with for rules and questions... the POPRA site isn't exactly up to date???

Brian is a Real Estate appraisor, I'm a Mortgage Broker. I hope you get the boat soon.

I own my own store in Cathedral City. I have direct in-house lending or near 60 investors like CitiBank, Washington Mutual, GMAC, for A paper loans and for subprime loans I have 40 investors like New Century, Long Beach, Argent ect. I prefer to use in-house funding for better control. I can fund in 45 states.

I tell ya Rob, I'm real happy with my Lightning long tube with 5" dry tails.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Thats A Big Blower Bro ! And That Top Pulley Looks Pretty Small. Lots Of Boost Their . On The Headers Make Sure You Check The Size Of The Primary Tubs. Cmi Makes Some Big Tube Headers So They Claim With A 1.7/8 Primary Tube. You Need At Least 2 Inch.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Motor ship date is still up in the air, waiting on all the accesories to get here so the brackets can be made up. In retrospect if I new this was going to take as long as it is then I would have to told John to just drop a 496 mag in there and be done with it but what can ya do? Thanks for the heads up Zuper, I wasn't aware of the CMI's being so small. I know John was trying to stay away from having to get customs made so I just told him way back when to get something for this application. I guess I should follow up some more ;)

I'd use Stainless Marine Gen III manifolds with ø5" pipes... :D
Tubular headers are a crap shoot. I have heard of far too many leaking...

Not many, I would say maybe 6 a year... He works for a drag race team (Funny car i think) and rebuilds a bunch of the ISBA drag rac\e boat motors. This is a new business venture for him so its taking time for the adjustment of this is not a hobby anymore and the bills have to come first... In short I get assed out for the jobs that pay.

Drag Race Guys Building Offshore Boat Motors How Long You Think That Will Last??????????????????????????????????????????

I Would Hate To Part Of That Learning Curve.

HuntingtonBeach 09-14-2006 05:42 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

I have faith that this motor will work well and last just fine as an offshore motor. A good engine builder builds for the application, if a builder only knows one application then they are a ****ty builder IMO... My comments were more to the point of why my engine is not done on time not that the builder only builds drag motors because that is not the case at all.
