Re: Prices ?
525 w/xr was around 25K each so call it 50K plus steering
1000hp w/ #6 was like 80ish 1000hp= lots o' upkeep 525=warrenty #6= bullit proof xr= rebuild based on your ease of use |
Re: Prices ?
500 hp on a XR would be a strong PKG, never heard of a 100 hour rebuild on an XR ????
|
Re: Prices ?
I ment the XR isn't going to last forever... Some guys have better luck then others... But the 525's are popping drives also, not as much as the 575sc-600sc but there are still problems for merc to fix...

Re: Prices ?
Hey Rob,
I don't think we're going to fit two BBCs in a 30' Super so lets talk SBCs... Merc. 320HP/6.2 with a Bravo drive is about 16K. Add a Whipple kit to get close to 500HP for another 6K. I don't think it's necessary, but if you insist Gary, upgrade to an XR, add 3K. 25K per side, the same as a big-block package. 50K total for 1000HP worth of engines and drives; Is that a lot of $$? I guess not compared to 80K for a single 1000 and #6 drive... |
Re: Prices ?
I still think it's the way to go. You guys are'nt thinking of the additional expense of Bigblocks.
Custom engine hatch $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Deck and liner has to be modifyed, major glasswork$$$$$$$ **Twin smallblocks- No modifications, Major savings !!$ :) |
Re: Prices ?
But a single 1000 hp setup should go faster than a 2 engine setup equalling 1000hp, right? You have one less drive in th ewater and you have less weight. Therefore, couldnt you go with about 800-900 hp to equal the twin setup? Maybe you wouldnt need a #6.

Re: Prices ?
I would go with a JC Perf 900hp and an Imco Drive. Oh wait that is what I did. Can't wait to see some of you guys on the water this summer......... :D
