Twins

So does this mean twin sb in a Y2K is not practical or cant be done? Would it not run right? I know it would cost a lot of extra $$$$$.

For me it came purely down to money... I just can't justify what its going to cost.

fast fun 2 as Rob said his choice came down to cash flow, I do believe that the twin staggered Y2K is a very do able idea, you never know some one else may pull the trigger on one in the future !!!!! :D

I would bet that (1) 900-1000HP Big Block and Speedmaster drive will cost the same or more than (2) 450-500HP Small Blocks and (2) Bravo drives.
But a twin engine hull with the stagger and rigging is going to be a lot more $$ than a single.

Pat as I said from the start, I was never into the worked out small block, I still believe the way to go would be the 6.2 320's hp efi's, staggered set up. Later on the whipple on the 6.2's, and of course the XR drives. Also if the rear seat was able to stay ( some what ) a pair of 496/HO's or the 525's. Just my thoughts, Hmmmmm who knows what the future may bring ???? Perhaps the twin idea should be in a 36' boat project !!! :D

Fast Fun,
It might cost more money for twins, buuuuut.... It's still alot less then 145K for another boat with a single 525hp.
The main reason I would rather go with twin SB's is the longevity issue. I know they'll last longer then 40 or 50 hrs thats what a blown BB usually lasts. If that. And the cost of a rebuild is waaaay up there compared to a SB.
