OPA P6 26' and under-anyone want to a Race?
 

OPA has a new class, P6, 26' and under. Any 24 Superboats want to come out and play? Also no entry fees this year! I like Superboats, however I've got a 24 Sunsation, anyone up to racing? Check Milling area for details. :D

That doesn't mean you can't race, it means you your policy will not cover any claim that occur durring a timed racing event.

(I promote track events for car clubs, we deal w this ALL the time)

Class seems kinda pointless... seems pretty much the same as P5... we need an outboard 24' and under SOB class... a 21-24' single outboard powered boat simply cannot compete with 24-26' big block powered boats.. Not trying to knock it... it would just be nice if they would have an entry level class for SOB's... like the old A and F class...

I agree with you for the most part-about not being competative in a small boat. Two years ago we had a few meetings on Long Island to promote the SOB class. There were 40 people who expressed interest, 10-15 said they were serious about racing. Unfortunately only you and Herb showed up. This year there are NO ENTRY FEES! This was the EXCUSE many used not to race.
Smitty and OPA has said if 5 boats commit, you have your SOB class with PRIZE MONEY! Maybe you can round up a few on Scream and Fly? It would be cool to see this class take off again!
Come on L.I . guys, get your SOB's out here! If this does not take off this year, with NO Enrty Fees and $PRIZE money, it will never take off. If there is anything we can do to help, (jackets, helmets, etc.) let me know.

Bob, I understand there is still a registration fee? I will try to come to as many races as possible... i will be moving in september for a little while so i can only attend races before that time. And im only gonna race if other SOB's show up.. i really don't want to take the chance damaging my boat to race against boats i know i can't beat. Hopefully some guys will show up this year but im not holding my breath

Point Pleasant Race is less than 2 weeks away, any 24 Superboat going to come out and play in P6 ??? :evilb:
So far we have Sunsation, Carrera, Pantera, Corsa and Baja. We need Superboat to be represented...any takers???
