I See A New Bee To Superboat Land. Thats And Old Issue. The Y2k Is Too Narrow For Side By Side Bbc,s You Can Do A Stagger But Lose The Back Seat. That Would Make It A 2 Seater. No Its Not Been Done Yet. Most Are Happy With A Single. The Big Question Is How Fast Do You Want To Go. Let Me Re Fraze That How Fast Can You Afford To Go?

Re: y2k

i saw the ad on superboat site about a 56g y2k with a 496 hittin 68 supposedly, so we have no reason to need twins for more speed with that efficient of a hull, so its more about the redudancy. if you were to run staggered then would you have to haev 2 seats, or could u run a 6man stand up? we are restoring a 1990 42 cig revolution that sunk, with everything new, and are putting in three new procharged 555c.i. bbc, new transoms, billet marine beefed xr drives, etc, but the hull is VERY inefficient and has a porpoising problem, so were not sure how it will react to all this power :D, or if the performance numbers will be satifactory  . so were kinda looking at alternatives that interest us, so that we could reuse most of the big $$$ rigging, so we wouldnt loosse are azzes if we were to sell, and could reuse mills, drives, transoms, most of exhaust, etc again. we have never really even thought about a new boat, as any new boat large enough for us was always way outta $$$ range, but the y2k looks like a great very efficient, affordable hull. does anyone know how the y2k handles rough water? whats is the approximate build time? thanks again :drink:

Re: y2k

The Y2k has been built with twin sbc, and it is too low to be a standup boat.
I have not been on one, but all who own them love'em.
I think a good move would be to get a stripped version w. XR, and in a year or so, send the 496 to Raylar for the 600hp upgrade.
That should get you in the upper 80mph range.
Or you could get a sweet pr of after mkt sbc's at 450hp each and run about 90mph. A sbc stagger could be interesting. FX10 should be able to make some measurements to see how much room you'd have for a rear bench. Right now it looks like a pretty long cockpit.

You Can Get A New Boat And Put In Your Own Power Or Even Get One Bare Bones. I Think They Where Between 35 And 40.

If you have the drive packages, we can put together a hull for you. Te Y2K is an EXCELLENT rough water runner.
Hull price is depending on what layup you want. regelar- thru - light weight.
