Had a great ride today!!!

Took a ride from Stony Pt down to the City. Motor ran great!!! 55 mph @ 3700 rpm :D Ran WOT for a few short bursts. Hit 85.5! Man that Whipple SCREAMS over 5000 rpm. You should have seen the look on my buddies face  the first time I opened it up!!!

I need to tinker with water pressure. 12 lbs at WOT, looking to get 15+.

All in all the motor didn't miss a beat. Very happy!! :D

I don't know how much HP, but only picked up 5 mph so far. I think I'll be able to squeeze out a few more with the right prop.

Hey Pat, I put on a stock 30 B1 and today was able to spin it 5500 rpm. The last time I tried this prop I wrote down 5200 rpm max. I must have made a mistake

I would like to try a Maximus and see if I can increase cruise. With the 30, I was at 57 mph @ 3700 rpm. Hopefully top end will not suffer.

Gary, I'm getting 5 lbs of boost. I do not get into boost until about 4500 rpm.

Sounds like a 29p Bravo with some added rake/cup for bow lift would be just the ticket. BBlades could make you one out of either a Stock 28p or 30p B1.
The 5 blade will likely give you a better cruise, but I doubt you will go faster on top. Your slip % is not that bad...

Pure, sounds like she's runnin great! You are near the same set-up as mine it sounds like now. I have a 30 Bravo1 labbed by BBlades on now and am not happy with it. I lost 5mph and 300rpm. over a stock 30. I'm going with Hydromotive 4x next.

Re: Had a great ride today!!!

I will start by saying there is going to be a lot of trial and error with the Y2K, since they is not a lot of "national" info about them.

I have spoken with Brett and yestarday with Matt @ Throttle up. I have been able to test a few props and with that info he was able to suggest I try a 1" spacer. My drive height is 1.5" higher than where JC puts it.

I also tried a labbed 30 and had poor results. Matt even said, before I told him I tried it, that a labbed prop may not perform well.

The "standard" labbed 4 blade props do not run well on boats that need bow lift. I believe a good bit of the cup gets removed.
My 24' slowed down when I had my 26p Bravo labbed. Then I sent it to Houston prop and they added cup to the leading edge and tip of the blade to get the bow lift back. Then it ran great.
This go around I sent my 28p B1 to BBlades and explained exactly what I wanted to Brett. I did not want a "full" lab job. I ask him to raise the rpm of my engine 100-200rpm and get my boat to run free with less trim.
The way my boat runs with the modified prop is awesome. Engine rpm is up and the boat will run high and free with vary little trim above neutral... :D
Brett at BBlades has a formula that will work for the 30' Supers as well...
