How do we compare?
How do our 24' Suprboat hulls compare in durability to the 24'ish hulls of Pantera, Sunsation, Corsa, or any others around the same P6 (22' to 26') size range. Their's not many/any 24' Supers currently racing that I know of? Can our hulls take that kind of abuse?
I was reading through some old posts where Pat threw a stringer loose? |

Re: How do we compare?
lol,
I am just wondering if it can handle anything I can throw at it.... I mean can it take a pounding at higher speeds (65+mph) in 4 to 5 foot rollers? |
Re: How do we compare?
Yes, I did crack a stringer on my 24 the first year I had it. It was one of the outer small ones and turn out to be a void in the plywood. The main stringers under the engine show no signs of fatigue to date.
As for comparing to a 24' Pantera, I did own one of those too, 1989 sport. I broke a stringer and bulk head in that boat the one year that I own it. My dad owned an early 80s 24' Excalibur which was basically the same boat also. And I'll say this, both my Pantera and Superboat are built better than that boat was. If you run hard/race things will brake. I have broken every boat I have owned with the exception of one, a 1978 28' Cig that was a 9000lbs tank. |

Re: How do we compare?
They are always stacked, very close together. 5 footers is a stretch, but 3 to 4 footers are common. 3 to 4 foot confused chop is common. The Lake I run on is pretty big, Lake Saint Clair, but is not very deep. So the wind can blow it up pretty big. A common Saturday, would be in a mix of 3 to 4 foot rollers with 3 to 4 foot confused chop. My Super seems to handle this fine at 50 and short runs over 60. The 5 footers are the wakes off the Freighters and large Yachts. They seem to come out of no where.
