27 sb

Hey Rick,
Would you guys build a 27 footer? Like a magnum or a stretched out 24?

Thats still a good price though, especially for something this custom.

ff2, 27? couldn't they just build the 30 and leave off the swim platform?
That would be about 28ft.

I Think Mag Should Due It, Then It Would Still Be Classic.........

I Called Mag For Some Stuff And They Told Me Her Son Was Ready To Due That A Couple Of Years Ago And She Was Scarad Someone Would Get Hurt In It...........

Actually the 30' Super is a true 30 foot boat. With the swim platform it is almost 32 feet.

Yea, JC told me that a 30' rigged with the same power as a 24' only cost 5-7K more...

A true 27' hull would be a nice step up from the 24'. After seeing OH-Zone's boat next to mine, I realized how much bigger the 30' is...

Re: 27 sb

OK... my bad.

FF2, why not just go to a 30?
You could always get a 27progression, but that would be more $ than the 30SB.

I dont mean i like the 2k, look at my sig thingy, i mean old school looks like the 24 or a magnum...

Re: 27 sb

ff, that old school look doesnt look to be the way SB is headed in.

I just read in a post that someone has taken a mold off the old 27 squadron hull and made a new deck for it.
They will be producing this.
Let me know if you'd like me to find this post.

I would like to know more about that boat, if you have the time to find it. As for Superboat, I understand that a 27 would be about the same price as a 30 Y2K, but there is a market for it. Some people want more than a 24, and a 30 may be too much in terms of trailering and storage. Perhaps we should start a poll and prove it to JC.

Steve, Superboat does have a big OLD SCHOOL 34' twin. My thoughts have always been a stretched Y2K, say 36' with staggered motors. As for the 27' ( Great Idea ) . Someone should call JC ?????? :D

Found it...
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...light=squadron

"hey guys we took a 1986 imperial striped the boat cut the deck off and built a awsome looking new deck then built a complete set of molds so if any one is interested in a new modern squadron e mail me at tony [email protected] for pics and more info"

CMC 06-28-2006 08:02 AM

Re: 27 sb

JC should take that 34 and make a 27 version. Same deck and dash.... Single 496 with CMI headers.... that would be sick....

Re: 27 sb

Here is my idea for pricing:

21 Legend $37,000 w/ 300Hp
24 Superboat $47,000 w/ 375 hp
27 Superboat $57,000 w/425 hp
30 Y2K $67,000 w/525 hp

I think its a good spread in terms of spacing between models, horsepower and price. Works out fairly well, doesn't it ??

CMC, I wish the Y2K could be that price with a 525 HP, when you get done with ext steering, K-planes and some goodies, your over 67 k, I would say 67.000 with a 496/375 and the options.

CMC 06-28-2006 01:46 PM

Re: 27 sb

My idea was that is the base boat with that HP. Add ons are extra.

Pat McPherson 06-28-2006 01:54 PM

Re: 27 sb

JC will not rig a 30' powered by a 525HP engine without having external steering rams among other required options for a 75-80mph boat.
It would simply not be safe...
I would guess by the time you are done, a 30' with a 525 complete is going to cost over 80K.

CMC 06-28-2006 02:09 PM

Re: 27 sb

Again most builders have a starting price. EVERYTHING additional is extra. I was just trying to show that there can be spacing in a product line.

Sure, I understand your logic.
Have you ever met John and or visited his shop?
While we all seem to agree there would be a market for a 27' Superboat model, it's not going to happen.

CMC 06-28-2006 02:49 PM

Yes I have met him. I realize that there is little chance of him changing his mind !!!

Good but 27 will (if ever) probably be more especially the 30.
