Where do you install a AM/FM/CD player? Does it fit in the fiberglass enclosure behind the helm?

Whats the best place for speaker placement in cockpit area?

Any recomendations would be appreciated.

My radio is just inside the cabin door on the right hand side. I think that is what you mean "fiberglass enclosure". It works out great, I can reach it easily, the remote works and I can secure it.

My speakers are placed two up in the cabin, and two behind the seats on ether side. Sounds great..

I mounted my stereo under the wheel at the helm, but if I was to do it again I would mount it inside the cabin with a hard wired remote.
I have four speakers in the cockpit two on the sides by the driver and copilot, two toward the back on the sides. All the speakers are mounted pretty low.

I just got done with the install of the stereo in my 24. I mounted the head unit in the cabin. It is on the upper most flat surface ahead of the dash and above the access panels (Sort of like how Superbash mounted his in the pic below except I removed the light and put it there for less cutting/holes) and I am going to run a wired remote to the dash. I mounted two speakers in the side panels ahead of the front seats and two in the back under the rear seat. The ones mounted under the rear seat worked out well because of the hollow space that allowed for the speaker not to protrude into the storage compartment. One thing you have to watch for is the glassed in tubes for wiring and cables in the sides of the boat. I was aware of the one on the drivers side and made sure to mount it low enough. I also ran my speaker wire to the back and passenger spears down that tube and under the back seat. The kicker was the tube on the passenger side was not at the same height as one on the drivers side......had to do some minor trimming to get the speaker cone to clear. I used al Pioneer equipment including the Pioneer 6.5" 160wt marine speakers

Pic 1 shows where my stereo is mounted. It works pretty good. You have to bend down to see the controls on the radio.

Pic 2 shows the front speakers, the rear speakers are mounted between the front and rear seats at about the same height.

My stereo and speakers are mounted exactly the same as he has pictured.
You do have to look out for the wiring tubes that are glassed in like Cuposterchild mentioned.
