prop pitch

whata do you guys think ? 24 suoer with 225x spins 6500- 6800 rpm, i went from a 22" chopper to a 21" trophy, i can only spin it to 5200 or 5400 trimmed way up, love the trophy as to handling and hole shot, should i go for a 19" ? thanks Rick

Get in touch with Superbash. He is the man for outboard set-up questions.
The trophy is a 4 blade, right? It does sound like you have too much pitch.
If you have to trim high, you might also consider raising the engine up.

Re: prop pitch

Something is wrong ! u spin a 22 chopper at 6800 and the 21 trophy is 5400 ? My buddie just bought a 24 from LITESPEED and runs a trophy and I think its a 23 spinning at 5800 with a stock 200 . Whats the propshaft height ?

That Boat Used To Be Mine And Ran The Best With A Lab 24 ET Wheel The 22 Chopper Was My Second Wheel Of Choice And Works Good .. Going From The 22 Chop To A 21 4 Blade Should Not Bring The revs Down That Much Put The Chopper Back On //Go On The Prop Site And Ask On There See What They Say////////////////////////////////////////////////////

hey, lightspeed. whatsup ? i was thinking of ordering a 19" today, but already decided i am going to toss the chopper back on for this weekend to use as a base line and try again, i really would'nt have thought the 4 blade would take it so low, it's just i wanted it for takeing the kids tubbin, the chopper just will not do that. O.K. First off....Me & QuickRick talked about what better prop he should run for speed & handling instead of the 22 Chopper .... all winter !!!

-Yeah the 4 blades are harder to spin. That's why we go from a 3 Blade down to a 4 Blade. We've all been there. Done that.

From experience...going from a 21SB to a 24SB with the same engine I droppped two prop sizes while staying in the same rpm range of the given engine.

Re: prop pitch

hey John, yep, that idea has crossed my tiny mind, that boat looks like big time fun. anyways one of these days i gotta get me a digital camera and post some pics. since i got her from you i added a complete jl audio system, had the interior redone and updated, and as we speak the trailer is being painted black with some bling, bling rims to match, got rid of the fx4 and got a mark lt, gotta match you know. so the prop hunt continues, goin toss the 22" back on this weekend and give it another spin, 52mph on gps just don't cut it. take care Rick

Hey Guys, i was just playing in the merc. prop selector site. have any of you guys found their selections remotely close ? for weight i used 2800 pounds, 2000 hull, 500 motor, 300 rigging, does this sound close ? they reccomend a 17" mirage or a 15" rev. 4, wtf, now i am super confused. wish there was a place around here i could try differnt props. going to put the 22" back on and try it, i'm starting to wonder if all cylinders are fireing, seems to run perfect though, any thoughts would be appreciated thanks again Rick
