I received this message a few days ago:

Ahoy Mateys –

Every year the conquered subjects of Block Island rise up against our rule and need to be suppressed. Last years plunder, although severe, seems to have faded from their memories and we must return. The seeds of uprising have been reported at Yellow Kittens as well as The National. Our spies tell us that many of the locals, having nursed last year’s wounds are re-arming for another fight. So fight we will! I also have good intelligence that local law enforcement is looking for revenge…I say Ha!

The mission is scheduled for August 19 and 20 (Sunday and Monday) and we need good strong ships and brave crew to add to the assault. Join Captain Haughton, Captain McPherson, Captain Kolmer and a few other brave crews in this most dangerous and important endeavor.

On a clear day, you're not out of sight of land for long.
We like to travel in a group as to never loose sight of the other boats. Safety in numbers calms those reservations...:cool:
What can get scary, is if the waves get so big your boat disappears in between them...:eek:

We're less than a month away; not to rush the Summer...

Still scheduled for Sunday, August 19, Monday August 20th.
At this point we are planning to be on the water 9:30-10am.

Gregg and I launch in Chester 10-12 miles north of LI Sound.

I talked to T-Mone Last week and he's in for the trip. He also told me that 2 other Pantera may join the fun.

We need more Superboats!

Yes Tripps...
Gregg (29' Fountain) and I (24' Super) will leave Sunday morning 10am from Chester and meet whom ever in Old Saybrook at 10:30am. That will put us in LI Sound around 11am.
If any of you fellows from LI want to meet on your side, we can meet at Oriant/Plum.
We also my have a boat or 3 coming for the west end of the Sound.
We will then cruise to Block making a few stops in the Ocean to swim, tilt a few, and enjoy the open water. It's not a race for sure...:party-smiley-048:
If we get to Block by 2pm and docked up by 3pm, we may have a chance to catch the end of the concert at the Spring House. If not, plenty of other things to do...:cool-smiley-011:

I know 3 boats for sure.
The same 3 that went last year, me in my 24' Super, Gregg in his 29' Fountain, Anthony (T-Mone) in his 24' Pantera.
Anthony has told me that a couple of his Pantera buddys are coming in their 28s and another guy in his 26' Sonic.
I have another friend that may come in his 25' Whaler and another friend of a friend in a party barge.

We, Gregg and I have been doing this Boyz only trip for 10-11 years and we've had as few as 5 guys on 2 boats and as many as 25 on 7 boats.
Block Island is a fun place, the more the merrier...:D

Oh It is a Boys only trip... I will have to check with the wife about this one and find a partner.....

I plan to sleep on my boat. My crew members are on their own.

Being that we go on a Sunday, we have not had a problem finding rooms. The last few years we have not made reservations ahead of time.
