Anyone have knowledge of this boat?
I am looking into upgrading to a bigger boat from my 23' Sea Ray Pachanga. I LOVE the Superboats. I have found two I am persueing further, here's the link to one
http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o15080-en.html The other one is the 06 yellow Y2K that Powerboat mag did their review on, it is for sale in Fl for $65. I am so glad I found this site. I can see some late nights on here. Hope to get some good feedback. |
Welcome wet rat! You'll find a wealth of info here on the SB forum. Loved those Pachangas!
The Y2K is an awesome performer. The All Rise boat was built around the time mine was, Oct '05, but I don't know much about her - others here should, they'll chime in. Take some time and read back thru a couple of the build threads to see how Rick works his magic in the shop to put these together. You've found the best bang for your boatin' bucks in a Y2K....... |
ALL RISE, was the first Y2K I was ever in, WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT BOAT !!!! We have driven side by side many times on the Barnget Bay with ALL RISE, PM me if your interested I know the onwer. Gary

My other half likes the ALL RISE boat but doesn't like the name ALL RISE. Is it vinyl or paint? |

So I have received a few email in response to the boat but I'm not really getting positive response. The only pics available are the ones in the ad, which are all of the boat in the water, no interior, etc. I ask detailed ?'s about what drive, fixed mounts, steering, and I get this.....it's whatever the basic Y2K comes with. I would think a motivated seller would give detailed answers and not just tell me....."ever heard of snooze you lose" and tell me I need to come to NJ. As it stands at this point I am persueing other boats, I don't have a good feeling about this seller, beside he told me "he's wealthy" so he doesn't really need to sell it, right??
|
Wet Rat, I think I'd "snooze" on that one. It may be a nice boat and may be in perfect shape, but if the seller isn't willing to talk to you about it it means 2 things to me. Either he doesn't want to sell it and the wife or something else is forcing it, or there is actually something wrong with it and he doesn't want to disclose it. It could be either one for all any of us knows. There have been people who have said they know him and he's a good guy, but as a buyer spending a lot of money, you need the seller to inspire some confidence in the purchase. I bought my 24 sight unseen from Lake George because the owner sent as many pics as I wanted, talked to me clearly about everything and was generally as helpful as he could have been to make the sale go smoothly. I got a great boat for a great price! When making a major purchase, you want to feel right about it. If you don't, walk away no matter how much you like it or think it is a good deal. There are always others.

Well said Jayhawk.....
|
Thanks Krak, I put my "grown-up" hat on every once in a while and even sound a little responsible :D Now it's time to go to the lake and act like kid!!:drink:
|
Jayhawk, all wrong. I know Dave and he does have a comfortable life style. His people skills do suck. I have seen that boat run many times and it just fine, I do not think he ever had it over 3500 RPMS. He has a few boats that he uses and the Y2K no longer fit his needs. So a far as any speculation on the boat being in bad shape, put that to rest. Thanks Gary.:D
|
Jayhawk--I totally agree with you and buyer comfort. He won't povide further pics, he won't answer questions via email although I get PLENTY of long winded emails detailing how I should buy a boat and what I should use a boat for. I finally got tired of being preached to rather then receiving answers to what I am asking so I told him I would be looking elsewhere.
Superbabi--nothing personal to Dave but he needs to aquire a broker or rep to sell his boat, no matter how many he has or the shape it's in, people ask questions for a reason, not to be told, "you just need to come to NJ." |
Dave's response.....
He's a high class guy
Good luck...you would never have bought this boat anyway.....nor will you ever pay $42,000 for anything....that is obvious.....you are no different than all the other shmocks who have no bread and want to go fast Anyone considering purchase of this boat go somewhere else....this guy is a total ***** |
wet rat, what ever you may do in so far as buying a boat, do your self a favor and get a ride in a Y2K, its one AWESOME RIDE !!!! I really could care less if you buy Daves Y2K or another, just trying to help.

I'm not sure what I'm wrong about Superbabi. What I said was that if someone who's trying to sell something acts the way described, I get 2 ideas in my head. Now I could be wrong about the 2 ideas, but the fact that those come to mind means the guy selling the boat is doing something very wrong. For SOME reason the seller isn't terribly interested in selling the boat. About that I am right because if he REALLY wanted to sell the boat, he would do what it takes to sell it. I'm not talking about giving it away, but simply helping the prospective buyer be comfortable about the sale. It is clear that in Rat's case the seller has no interest whatsoever in helping him find out what he needs to know. Wealthy or not, has this person lost touch with reality so far that he believes everyone is beneath him and should just listen to what he says? Sounds like a bad deal to me. And, if the e-mail Rat posted by this guy is the truth, it is apparent he thinks very little of others in the boating world. I am not a wealthy guy, but one who doesn't mind spending a little hard earned money on a toy. This guy sounds like a real peach to send an e-mail like that in response to requests for info. Sorry Superbabi, he may be a nice guy to some, but it seems to me that he believes himself better than many others. I'm not trying to bash your bud, just calling how I see it.
|
Jay Hawk, as I said his people skills suck, thats just the type of person he is. That being said, if you can get through his B.S. its a nice easy used Y2K. for anyone who is interested. There is nothing in it for me, I only want to see some one step up to a Y2K who can enjoy the boat.
|
wet rat, if the boat is what u want and you can get past this guys arrogance/ignorance, have a local OSO bro check out the boat for you and take lots of pics. just my $0.02.
btw, when i sold my boat, i emailed lots of detailed, requested photos within minutes of being asked. buyer never came to see it, just sent $. He did love the boat upon delivery. but then again... i'm in sales for a living. |
It's all good Superbabi!:D
I'm sure the boat is in great shape and it is probably a great deal at the price. If You really want it Rat, spend the money on a surveyor. You'll get your pics that way, and you'll get everything good and bad about the boat. Also, there's nothing the seller can say about it because there's no way he can expect to sell a boat without a survey, and you wouldn't want to buy any used boat without one anyway! If you really want it, do that. Heck with the seller. Don't let some guy with an attitude keep you from what you want! |
Jay hawk, thats what I've been saying in so many words. If the boat is in good shape and the price is fair and one can jump into a Y2K quick and enjoy a summer, why not do it and forget about the a-hole selling the boat. You deal with the guy for a really short amount of time in proporation to the time one would own the boat. By the way that Y2K does have bottom paint.
