Y2K w/o swim platform?

Anyone have a photo of a Y2K without the optional swim platform?

Dan

z.zuperboat 05-29-2007 01:37 PM

No

fastedy 05-29-2007 04:42 PM

anyone have pics of the Y2K with outboards with no platform, it was a cool looking boat, and what ever happen to the one with twin smallblocks, how fast did it run.

freshwaterfiend 05-29-2007 10:25 PM

I'd like to see no platform too.

z.zuperboat 05-30-2007 08:18 AM

The platform makes the boat. Without it you mite as well cut the boat by the back seat and make it a 24 ! I think thats already been done ? Didnt Bartel make a boat with the deck pushed back ?

p729lws 05-30-2007 01:49 PM

Personally, I'd rather see all the performance hardware bolted to the transom than look at a swim platform. I’m OK if it ends up looking like a 30’ Y2K as opposed to a 32’ Y2K.

What about the turbine boat? That one just has a sage drive and no platform right?

Superbabi 05-30-2007 01:56 PM

p727lws, are you talking I/O or Outboard ????

No, it has a platform.
To my knowledge, the only Y2K built without was the outboard.
I agree with Zup, the platform is a nice addition...

Shore Thing 05-30-2007 02:01 PM

yeah, you're right. I just went back and looked for the pictures. I guess i assumed it wouldn't have a platform because of drive height issues with that monster. Always speaking too soon...

Stormrider 05-30-2007 03:14 PM

i think the platform works nicely w/ the decklines.
w/o it the boat would look as if the back were cut off.

but i too like to see all the hardware on the back of the boat when lookin...
nice extension box, or exhuasts and tabs...

I think at idle speeds the swimplatform carries the lines the best. :D

Eddy,
From what I heard, the twin outboard Y2K ran in the low 90's. As far as the swim platform. It's pretty much standard on all the Y2K's.

I/O.

I'm in a 22' Donzi Classic now and I'm thining about something in the 28'-30' range. 28 Pantera's and Y2K's are at the top of the list. I'd stay in the Donzi line but they don't have a model larger than the 22 Classic with out a platform untill you get to the 38 ZR Competition and that's not in the budget anytime soon. It would be cool to go from a 22 footer w/ a 7' beam to a 30 footer w/ a 7' beam.

Anyone have pictures of the canopies beyond what is on the website?

freshwaterfiend 06-01-2007 11:56 PM

So you can upgrade to them from the fiberglass canopies at a later time?

P729
You can have a Y2K w/O swim platform. But be prepared to pay for the extra tooling involved. The only one made without the platforn was the ourboard one. So a new engine hatch would have to be tooled up, along with a filler piece for the center portion of the deck.

Thanks for the heads up Rick, I guess it's a less is more ($$$) deal.
