i beg to differ. A surveryor will pick up on stuff most people can't. A buyer should always have a boat surveyed before buying.

opinion noted, if you inspect the boat personally and are willing to make a reasonable offer based on that and the seller is an azz and won't compromise based on the moderate condition then why waste your $ on a survey? All I'm saying. I would never purchased a boat not surveyed or ATLEAST inspected by a qualified person.

Stormrider 06-01-2007 05:21 PM

fully agreed... a seller who is an azz, will not be a seller.

K-WELLS 06-01-2007 06:24 PM

what good is a survay if the seller is non negotiable???? not even by 500 bucks?????

Stormrider 06-01-2007 06:35 PM

its not, and that wasn't my point.
i was commenting on his quoted statement...

either way, i'm in sales, and if i have an attitude towards a buyer... i wont be selling. end of story.

there are plenty of tire kickers out there too, but you don't want to turn off a real prospective buyer.

K - post some pics of your new to u 24.

I was always told rule of thumb when buying a used boat and I read this in a few difrrent magazines also. take $100 off for every $1000 the seller is asking. If seller is firm shame on him - he should have shot higher and came down a little to make the buyer fell better about his purchase and the buyer feels like he got a better deal. (( Only my 2 Cents )) ---- it must have cost a few hundred $$ to advertise in Newsday for the second time, OSO and any other publication this Y2k was listed in so I would think he's hotter to sell then he's leading off and should neg a little bit. Boat does sound like a good deal at the price he's asking!!!!!!

WERD! After seeing your post I just steered clear. His attitude sucks but I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

But if someone says they are firm on a price, and will not move - I personally seen the boat advertised in NY's Newsday Classifieds adds, and oso possibly others if I am correct - I fiq around a cost of $500 to advertise the boat 4-sale correct maybe more $. Now I am sure it will go for a third listing in some classifieds fiq $1000 now is the investiment to sell. why not drop the price 1K the first time and save time and money ? and make someone happy. everyday the boat sits, the cash 40K + could be in the bank or investing the $$$ and that $$$ is being lost too for profit. It does not make sence to lower a price, I belive seller loose in the long run.... ((( This is only my 2 cents )))

Stormrider 06-04-2007 02:16 PM

Ad here on OSO for 3months is like $30-$40.
IMO, this is the place to sell these boats.
you will get tire kickers everywhere.
but there IS boating passion on this site. can't say that for other advertising venues.
It all comes down to if the seller wants to sell.
