Prop testing on my 24' Super.

Yesterday I had a chance to run my stock 27p M+ vs. my labbed 28p B1.
The top speeds were virtually identical with the 3 blade maybe 1mph faster. 74-75mph @ 4800-4900rpm...
With the 3 blade the drive must be trimmed down all the way and the boat heading straight to get out of the hole or it just blows out. In slow cornering the 3 blade also lost grip. Running straight in reasonably calm water, the boat is fast with great acceleration with the M+.
With the 4 blade, I find the boat much easier to drive especially in rough water.
I'll be talking with Brett at BBlades to see if he has labbing process for the 3 blade that will give better bite out of the hole and more top end speed on my boat.

My testing has convinced me that a 3 blade is NOT the prop for mt boat. I would like to see if could turn a labbed 30P. I can usually get 5K rpms with the stock 28. Although this weekend with the killer heat and humidity I was down to 47-4800 RPMs.

Hi Dave,
Yea, I remember that your step bottom boat didn't like the 3 blade. Your boat has larger strikes and a semi pad too.
My straight V bottom boat does not seem to have the chine walking problems with the 3 blade that you had experienced. I think she sits a little deeper. Not to say that my boat is not much more stable with a 4 blade vs. a 3 blade.
The only reason for me to run a 3 blade, is to get max speed on calm days. The 4 blade will be on the boat 80-90% of the time...
