Y2K Center Console build pics !!

OK ! I know I've been slakin with the build pics on this one. A few camera problems (couldn't find it, Kates daughter had it for awhile).
This is the deal. A lightweight Race layup W/2 stringers, not 4. The bottom was fully Balsa cored prior to the stringers going in. Estimating the hull to weigh approx. 1900 lbs. unrigged.
The outside perimeter of the Y2K deck will be utilized for the plug mockup. That is already layed up and waiting for the hull.
Once the hull is fairly done the deck pllug will be installed and finished. Once completed, a mold will be made from it. It's moving along really fast so far.
These first 2 will have a transom motor well, with a bench across the stern. If you want the xtra room, you could opt. for a full transom and a 2' Stainless Marine setback.
Anyway, the hull is layed up and cored. Set up the 360 degreee laser and shot the elevation for the cockpit sole and string height. The stringers were also glassed in today. Tomorrow the bulkheads for the fuel tank(100 gal.) and storage lockers will go in.
I'll keep you all posted on the build.

Looks great so far!

Good questions, MDMark. It too would like to know if any strength is compromised in a lightweight race layup with 2 stringers versus the traditional 4 in a Y2K.

Are 4 stringers going to be an option? How much more would it weight, do you recommend them for a pleasure version, how much more strength or rigidity would it give the hull? Lookin great so far!!!

Rick is likely to answer this question tonight.

I don't think the I/O boat has 4 full length stringers, only 4 from the first bulk head (behind the fuel tank) back to the transom.
I'm quite sure that 2 full length stringers are plenty strong for an outboard.

I would ask if there is going to be a transom knee? or are the stringers tall enough to keep the transom from flexing and cracking around the motor well.
