Y2K single vs twin

Looking into a new Y2K,would like some pro's and con's
on twins or single.Looking to put twin 383 magnum 325hp.
Or merc 525 efi single.I think speed will be about the same from what I have been reading on the forum, but I was told the single will ride better then twins and the coast would be less with the single. But if I could get twins with a good warr
and run the same as a single race engine I think it would be
better way to go.But I see really nobody has gone down that road, most have gone down the raod of a single.I wonder why?

I don't know about the cost.....twin 350 Mag MPI/Bravo combos may be the same or less than a 525/Bravo X.

Merc. pretty proud of those blue motors.

Thank you for the info...What ever happend to that boat I guess it was fixed and does anyone know how it ran,was the owner happy with the boat? When I called Superboat they told me it sat to low in the water and they thought a single was the way to go.

My 30 y2k single Konrad MDG 800 runs perfect, twins tough to work on,never rode in one but would assume a little tail heavy, cost probably real close twin 383 mag vers single 525 merc, can get 5 year warranty on stock engines,If you go single engine route you should really consider the Konrad ,bulletproof package with 800 hp and works perfect on the y2k,had my boat out last weekend in 4-5 ft bay chop running hard,no problem,if i was running a bravo probably would have trashed it,really love the set up,boat will run 92-94 mph on a decent day.Ron potter can build you a great engine, also i can build you an engine and rig you a boat, where are you located, always nice to be close to your builder to get service after the sale, good luck you can't go wrong with the y2k great boat, come down to MD anytime and go for a ride

We took a ride on MDG's boat back in August. At 90, it was like doing 50. it didn't do anything odd, and you could tell tell it was very well balanced. I'd think a single BB would be the only way to go. Wish I could buy it, but I can't seem to get anyone interested in my 24!
