Looks Sharp! I always admired how the color yellow just 'pops' on a boat. I'm also a fan of plain jane solid white... timeless.
Off topic, but why haven't more Y2K's been built with the F-16 fighter jet canopies vs molded fiberglass fairing? I understand that Superboat is a custom boat & the owner dictates it's build, but (excluding cost) what is the advantage of the fiberglass fairing setup? Thanks, Dan Pic copied from SuperboatOnline.com |
I think the reason not many y2k are built with the f-16 canopy is cost factor, around 10k extra. The reason so expensive is that they are purchased as goverment surplus(slight defects) and need to be inspected if defects are acceptable, need to purchase a bunch to get good price, these of course are real f-16,some companys( skaterand several other) have made there own canopys but some have a lot of distortion and hard to see through, also a lot of finish work to fit nice. This is why superboat built the fiberglass windshield a lot cheaper and easier.I think a y2k with canopys would be awesome, lower the seats look thru the canopy no wind in face,if i could find a good set i would like to put a set on my y2k.

I think it is a LI guy. Nice work, but he has a substance abuse problem, so I'm told. The guy I bought the boat from was going to have the painter do his other boat, gave him a nice deposit and the painter disappeared! |
