Rick, after the 24 is sanded and gel coated, what is applied on top of the gel coat? Or is that the final coat? Any new pics yet?

FX10 02-05-2008 04:52 PM

No pressure.
When you were creating the new deck plug, a black material was applied to the plug, what is that black stuff and how is it prepared before you create the mold?

FX10 02-05-2008 06:28 PM

The black (grey) stuff is Duratec High build primer, It's sprayed on when all the finishing and fairing is done. Once sprayed, it's wetsanded and polished.

Thanks. Good to know!
When the Duratec is applied, sanded, then polished, is the polishing done with a polishing wheel?

FX10 02-05-2008 10:01 PM

Yes Noli, done with a polisher.

Yeah, thats it. Quad 300 Mercs. 1200HP. 87.6 average for two way run. Our Y2KCC should go faster then that with a pair of 250's.
