24' Superboat O/B ?

Can twin outboards be installed on a 24' Superboat? What are pros and cons of this?

Also does anyone know anything about this boat? Should this boat be avoided? Or is it good to go.

Also this is my first post. So hello everyone.

Wellcome to OSO!! Anyway, the boat seems clean and the owner is on Scream and Fly alot and seems like a good guy. That boat will run through anything you can throw at it.:cool-smiley-011:

You wouldn't happen to know his screen name would you? And what would you suggest for power? Twins are probably to much on a 24 footer right.

There is a 24 Pantera with twin 200's in Atlanta for a few $$$ more.

There is the link, guess the price is more than a few dollars more than the SB, but worth it IMO.

Twin 200's on a 24 have been done but IMO not recommended. Have not heard of any with twin 300'S
Boat accelerates like a rocket.
2 draw backs IMO
1) Tie bars or knees need to be installed or over time transon takes a beating
2) Extra weight from twins makes boat too tail heavy and a hand full to drive for lack of a better term .

They are realy great boats-had 2 myself both outboards would buy another one without a doubt

IMO Single 300 is in the mid 70 range (about same as twin 200'S) much easier to drive and less up keep and fuel.

Superbash ( Gene) is running 78+ with his 24 and a 300 on the back. His boat is on the Superboat website,

red boat was a nice piece....

Twins NOOOOOOO....single 300 is the way to go ....twins the boat is a serious handful at speed...was not designed for twins....plus if you spend all that money on the twins and rigging ...you may as well find a bigger better handlig(with twins) hull....

single 250 will get you in the high 60s and single 300x in mid 70s....plenty for the 24....trust me you will love it...

SINGLE OUTBOARD 24's

Twins on a 24 just kill the beauty of its narrow design. The bigger the chop the more the hull naturally airs out... the faster we go. Twins or labbed props arent the answer. Tie bars are needed for those of us with setback & that run hard. Single Outboard 24's run the ocean not the flats.
A properly set up & driven 24 with a 250 will hit 71.0. 300X mid-high 70's.
