Just Picked up a 16CC to go with my 21SB

I picked this up for my three kids, (my son, my daughter and me). I am going to do a restoration on this to match my 21'

I know.

Here is my story and I'm sticking to it. When I bought the yellow one, I never brought it home. I "hid it" at Raybo. I just told my wife I bought a SB for the kids and that I was going to sell the Whaler. SHE stated that SHE did not want the kids driving around in a "speedboat". I explained to her that they were safer in the 16SB than a 13BW SHE did not want to hear it. So I sold it. Fast forward to last weekend....
We were hanging out on the Sea Ray and my son took her for a ride on the BW. My wifes back took a beating in the BW. She came back to the Sea Ray and told me her back hurt. No less that 5 minutes later a Yellow 16' SB drives by us and she comments... "thats a cute boat". (my 16' SB that I sold). I was ready to do a Natalie Wood on her. I said "Honey", that is the one I sold. Monday morning I was doing my daily ritual on the toilet as I read Newsday and saw a 16' SB for sale. I proceeded to go buy it. Joe I's cousin saw me putting it in at Burns and asked how I got it so quickly. Hoser came by my house and cussed me out for getting it, he said he was going to buy it. I am thinking about doing it in Red to match the 150XS's I have, or match my 21 and name it "mini me". The third option is Orange and White with a Johnson Stinger on it.

" I was ready to do a Natalie Wood on her"

Too funny!!! BTW, That paint job that Rob @ Raybo did on your 21' is phenominal. Good luck with the Super 16.

nice find... Rob bought my 16 and sold it less than a week later... :)

mragu 09-24-2008 01:31 PM

rick, thanks
sean, i almost bought yours when you had it for sale, i delayed in calling then i saw it at robs yard. this was was a little cheaper and with a motor. yours was/i very sharp and a nice resto.

i may need a 24 standup as i have major issues with my back and have not used the 21 in almost 2 mos. my chiropractor is my neighbor and he tells me he better not see that boat off the trailer.

Stormrider 09-24-2008 02:29 PM

mragu... that sucks.
what yr is the 21, sure is nice!
let us know if when you make a decision...
unless you just decide to get a new chiropractor! :)

mragu 09-24-2008 11:09 PM

the hull is a 1992, the motor is a 2000
the chiropractor is one of my best friends. I don't regret selling the 24' SB I had earlier this year, it was an OB. I would like to go with a 24 I/O

Stormrider 09-25-2008 01:48 PM

Well, you did a hell of a job on that 21.
i'm assuming you cleaned that up yourself.
very nicely updated.

If I did it myself, it would not look like that LOL

Stormrider 09-26-2008 08:17 AM

Yea... i guess my statement was a bit misleading...
To clarify...
did you have it done or did you buy it that way?
For a 21SB, its very tastefelly done...imo.

No , I was a "general contractor" on the restoration.Raybo Marine did all the glass work, paint, etc, and East Coast Marine did the rigging.

good looking 21 :party-smiley-004:
1) when are you selling it
2) and how fast is it :food-smiley-007:

1st-Put in your avatar that you have a 24' 4Winns and not a SB21.
That spot is for people who USE their boats
2nd-The motor is sold. If I find a perfect 24 with the right I/O power I may sell the 21
3rd-Right now it is not very fast as I cannot use it because of my back, you can't use your because of your BOSS (LOL)
The best speed so far was 74.8 on legit GPS. It is nowhere near being set up properly as I have not been able to use the boat for 2 mos and I have only been out on it 5X

Thanks!
I also added an underfloor gas tank to allow space under the console. The plywood floor was replaced with a nidacore floor which has lightened the boat considerably. I hit 49 on GPS with myself(215lbs) and 1 passenger(200?) with the 90HP Tohatsu. I am interested in seeing what the boat does with the V-4 Crossflow that I am putting on it

Sean 01-30-2009 01:33 PM

mine had a 2003 115 Johnnyrude on it and it was scary....:eek::eek: never attempted to see how fast it was...couldnt get through the chine walk... my nads are smaller than they used to be in my yute... I had a 235 johnson on a 16 Traveler....

I'm thinking of a 24 with a Millenium setup. Sitdown down console. I'm getting old too.

With a PAD, dammit

Believe me, the 24 bottom will be modified. If I'm gonna own it, it's gonna be original. The Special FX edition. LOL
I have Kate and 3 girls to tote around, plus their friends. A 21 is too small.
