I have seen one that idles past me occasionally in the state channel here on LI looks like it has twin 200's, and I saw it blasting by once in the bay, looked good. But no real experience with that set up, either from doing it or seeing someone with it

Personally, now that I have a 24', I wouldnt do it. You can get a good 300 HP engine that would push you 70-75 and not have to deal with the hassle of retroffiting rigging for a twin application. Plus, I know mine has a 58 or 59 gallon tank and I can bust through that pretty quickly if I want to, with twins, I would think you would want the bigger tank, which would layer on a whole other set of headaches when re rigging it

I guy on OSO named Gassticks used to post here. He had a 24 w/200's. I think it ran about the same speed as a single 300 or BBC.

I "heard" there was an incident involving a 24 w/twins yrs. ago and they tried to sue John/Superboat. I'm sure someone will correct me if that is not true.

Gassticks boat was nice.

"incidents" are never good, take it from me.

No need for twins on a 24' Super IMHO. A 250-300HP single outboad or a 320-470HP I/O is the best power.

difficult to drive if not setup absolutely perfect, stern heavy, unsafe.....

at least thats my opinion from the two with twins that i have run....the boat is simply not designed for twin outboards....a good 300 and you will get close to the same speeds and the boat is better balanced and better handling.....
