You know it is late in the Season on Long Island when 1/3 of the boats are Patrol and Saftey Boats, 1/3 of the boats are Clam Boats and the other 1/3 are SUPERBOATS!!!

Likewise I grew up weekending and summers on the water. Had my own boat as a pre-teen. Loved driving my dads 17" Crusers Inc lapstrake boat with twin 40's back in the day and thought it was the sh!t! My nine year old son is starting to dig the speed of the Superboat and as you said getting him involved as much as possible...Nothing like the accelerated class huh! Keep up the good work!

Nothing like starting on a small boat to get a real feel - I started by harrassing my neighbor that flipped and sunk his 15' Glasspar G3 to let me have it... After watching it on the bottom of the canal for a season he finally told me to take it... A lot of work later at 13 I was out runnin the whalers... I contribute the inlet runs in that boat to my some of my best learning experiences...

Time spent with your child doing something you both love .... Priceless! I'm impressed!!!

Used to be winterized for the winter - Its not winterized anymore...

No Ice left out there... The islands are covered and possibly some ice in the shallow none moving areas but the bay wuz wide open for Speed!!!

Another foot higher and it would have been helloooo Geico. My insurance has a layup time and I dont think im covered until maybe may. You could have put it on your homeowners because another foot of water and the boat mite have been in your living room.

Days like that make you realize, any time she wants Mother Nature can take everything we own.:eek: Out waterfront home took a Major Hit with the March 13 Slam.

We sat on my neighbors back deck and watched as his dock slowly got broken apart...board by board. I hadnt seen the bay like that in a long time, just trying to drive across bridge was an adventure

Boat was good out there. It got real bad after dark and I lifted her up another 3ft. which also shortened the cables and prevented to much swinging.
It woulda been nearly impossible to get out to her at the peak of the storm, but if my girl needed me I woulda been there for her.
