Any benefit of extension box on Y2K?

Speed, handling, lift, good, bad, indifferent?

Thanks

Kendal I have the ITS and I dont think it does help any with the deep V and the already long length for a single running at my speed at 80... No issues handling

I'm just puzzled that with 775 hp I'm only going 84.5. I did do 90 once, but since that one time I can't break 84.5. Maybe the motor is missing somwhere. I wished for a 28 skater with O/B for christmass but didn't get it!

Kendal, that speed does not sound right for 775hp! I think you need a nice 35 Motion!!:D:D

It would be a priveledge to own that boat, but out of my range.

Plus, 30' is my limit.

That box has 12" of setback? Also, what kind of lift are you running with it? (looks to be adjustable on thier website)

I'm just wondering how it compares to the imco unit with 3" lift...

SUPERSTITIOUS 12-29-2009 08:27 PM

ITS isnt adjustable The center of the lower unit is 1 1/2 " below the bottom on my setup. I tried a 1" spacer a while back but liked it better without.

Temp and humidity and water cond. play a huge role in how my boat performs. I've had many different results on different days...

And I Am Sure It Would Run Better With A 2 Inch Shorty On There

I was going to suggest the same thing. Gary, Remember during the photo shoot, the Activator you were running against had a 2" Imco shorty on it.

I believe the JCap did the most testing of anyone on the Y2K.
The extension box did not help and neither did a shorter drive.
I believe that on the first generation Y2K hull, the factory set prop shaft height of 3-1/2" below with no extension is about as good as it gets. JCap did run with a 1 or 1-1/2" spacer for racing but went back to the stock length for reliability reasons.

The Zuperboat is the only 30' Super that we've talked about here that ran well with an extension box. The boat is vary light and has the tempest deck. I'm sure Mike is happy to tells his stories again.
