21' w/ twin 200 outboards
 

I got the motors and now I need setup info. Anybody use a bracket? With the single and jack plate ( 24 4 blade trophy) the boat runs pretty flat w/out much bow lift. Any thoughts?

If you ask me, I say bolt on 1 and keep the other as a spare.

This is a photo I found from another thread. Twins sure look cool- espically with the short offshore mids!

I'm sure that a single 250, or 300 would be more practical. Although, if you're considering twins on a 21- "practical" isn't really of concern I'm guessing.:eek:

I got a spare motor that i could not get much for. So why not.

Not much running time with only 60 gallons of fuel

Depending on what they are, I'd think that you could sell both and buy a nice 250, or 300. Also, rigging the extra motor is gonna costs some dough to do it right, so add that in as well... imo, you'd probably be better off going with a larger single and selling your two motas.

Nick, It was my friend Joes boat. I don't remember the top end but he stated that the acceleration (sp) would snap your neck. I am going to see him today, I 'll find out top end

Mid 90's mercury 200 2.5L. i was told the twin make the boat handle much better than a single.

Those motors should be worth enough money to buy a newer 250/300...espically when you factor rigging into it. If I was in your shoes and wanted a very fast boat, thats what I'd do. I can see wanting twins for the cool factor... I still have a fantasy of bolting up twins on a Checkmate 2400pulsare in my head- dreamin is cheap, doing ain't.

What kind of shape is the boat in? Is the transom tie-bared already? Twins will put alot more stress on a transom that already requires extra support with one big motor and some setback.
