XR W/Sportmaster on Y2K

Anyone tried an XR upper with a sportmaster lower on a Y2k? Results?

I've got an opportunity to buy one with about 20 hrs on it for a real good price & thought if it didn;t hurt it sure would look cooler then the bravo!

Ask Fast Eddie.
I also remember JCap saying the sportsmaster lower didn't work well on his boat.

Gary, is the sporty a standard length lower?

It cant hurt to have a spare drive. IMO the best money spent on performance is in the prop.

I heard in some cases the merc sport slowed boats, and the imco was faster which is standard 1'' or 2'' shorter. and new there 1800 to 2000 g for vert shaft and case.

It is a standard length lower Nick... It was tried on an older thourghbred 280 which had a lower X dimension then my Y2K by what looks like at least 2''s.... didn;t work well at all on the Throughbred & it was decided that it was because it was to low in the water.... I think I can try it w/o buying it so I may give it a try in the next couple weeks.... I'll let you guys know if I do how it works out... thanks for the responses

you'll lose 2 to 3 mph, I think the sportmaster lower dosen't help at all till you get over 90, It has no leverage and gives you no bow lift, Level trim in the rough Im sure its fine
