Hydromotive Props?
Anyone have any expirience with Hydromotive Quad 4's on Y2K's?
I'm running a Bravo 30 about 5600 rpms & am looking for a 32... found a 32 Hydromotive & thought it might be worth a try? |

I tried a P5X on my boat and it didn't work for me. I have ITS, so the additional setback and drive height may be different than you guys.
So far, a tweaked RH 28P Bravo is working best for me. I would like to try a Merc. Maximus when I get a chance. I'd also like to try a LH bravo too. |
I bought a stock 32 Bravo to try... I've had great luck with Bret @ Bblades.... he made a 28 Maximus for my boat a couple years ago that is absolutely the best prop I ever ran on it.... unfortunately it is too small with the new motor..... it is 3 mph faster then the Bravo @36-3800rpms which is where I generally run the boat.... planes better... just better all around...but 2-3 mph slower on top then the Bravo.... which i really don't that much about... I'm still dialing this thing in.... the old motor would turn my Bblades 30 Bravo about 4900-5000 with 2 people & half a tank... the new motor turn the same prop 5500 with 4 people & full tank & I really wasn't working the trim very much... I need to keep it under 5600 to be happy I think.... Thanks for the input guys.....

Are you looking to sell the Maximus? I might be interested, 28P might be too tall for me. How much HP was your old motor?

I have a 28 RH Maximus I'd like to get rid of. PM me an offer.

How does it compare pitch wise to a bravo? I'm between a 28 and 30 bravo. I think a 28P Max might be too much prop.

Mine (Bret labbed it for the SB) runs a couple hundred rpm's less then my labbed 28 Bravo and a couple hundred rpm's more then the labbed 30 Bravo.... faster then the 28 not as fast as the 30.... but the boat LUVS that 5 blade.... enough so that I prefer it over the faster 30 Bravo for everyday use..... significantly better fuel mileage imo....
