That is cool. Those motors must be tight in there! I wonder what numbers it runs?

The old R C Marine is in Puerto Rico. Mike Bowe had a tempest Race boat, twin small blocks (500+ HP each) in the early 80's. Did over around a hundred. White hull, with the reed and blue stripes. Don't know what ever happened to it.

6'6" Beam? Is that right?

Anyone got pics of this one for sale?
|
I was able to see it from the link given. It did say it was apart and had to be put together. I have a picture of Bowes boat with the tall narrow scoops at the beach withome hydrostreams. Holy old picture. I thought his boat was at Aldos. Old and Wrecked. He had one just like it that he thought of stretching to make a mold for a streched 30/34 staggered big blocks. Sounded promising. Dont know if its still there.

Chances are you have Mike Bowe's old boat. Same stripes. And his also had the dash extension on the deck.

Try contacting Jeff from Freeze Frame. He might look up some old pictures of Mike's Boat. Can't guarantee it though. I used to have a bunch. But years back when I got divorced. The X chucked my box of all the race pictures I had.

Those drives look like they're too far apart, but of course that's only because the boat is so narrow. That thing must do 90+ if those are really 480 hp engines.

ok shes still for sale, Ive been living out of the country.

30 foot Superboat with twin 400CU full roller smallblocks, almost 1000HP out back, only dyno hours on engines, Bravos, two sets props, Warlock Racing hydraulic steering, this is almost a full race boat with twin bolsters and flat decks. The engine hatch is flat, you can walk on it. Superboats are known for winning races and this narrow beam design crushes waves other boats cannot navigate. the 30-foot Superboat ( named the 30 Tempest) was designed with rough water in mind. The narrow beam, <7 feet, enables the boat to cut through any sea conditions like a knife with the handling characteristics of a much larger boat. Less bottom area and less weight translate into faster speeds, and that 30-foot hull outran all of our competitors' boats with equal stern drive power. * Note: 8' and 8'6" beamed boats were designed for maximum widths on highways - not performance. The 30 Tempest was almost unbeatable on the offshore racing circuit, and Superboats has won more races with this size hull than any other manufacturer. Three of these race boats, RC MARINE, MEDIA MASTER , and the EXTINGUISHER, completely dominated the A-class from 1991 to 1999 establishing some offshore records that may never be beat. You can fly the tops of seven foot seas and never land wrong., this very rare setup outhandles everthing, . Two sets of 23p props, mirages and blades. New gaffrig gauges, trim in the throttle, new wiring harnesses, all components are LOW HOURS, Please email for photos. Boat is on a steel trailer recently professionally serviced, and is so light can be towed behind a ford explorer. Beam on trailer only six feet.or so including the boat. Very easy to transport and ramp launches like a dream, one person can do it. No expensive haulout fees. Cruises and planes at only 2200 RPM, uses half the gas of the big block twins and finishes ahead of them. Down below are bunks and lights only. MSD marine ign. Blaster coils, soft touch rev limit chipped @6000RPM. The bottom is spotless as are the gimbals and drives. Boat available for viewing at Northeast Performace Marine in Bridgeport, CT Seatrials available w deposit
please email me for more info and pics must sell $21,000 [email protected] https://post.craigslist.org/manage/4633554292 |
