Superboat CAT 32

I own a cat Superboat 32 with three engines Evinrude 300 v8 and whether it is possible to replace these engines for two internal MerCruiser. Does anyone know anything about this board, there is enough room inside for installed engines.

elvisali 01-26-2014 12:39 PM

I would call john at superboat, he will probably have best background on what can and can't be done

Cat32 01-26-2014 12:59 PM

Thank you for your response, reporting from Europe and here it is difficult to obtain Evinrude 300 v8, and tried to install internal engines but I do not know how this is possible, because the gasoline tanks high and there is little room

Cat32 01-26-2014 02:19 PM

Does anyone have for sale v8 engines Evinrude XP 300

Why not get rid of all 3 of the Gas Guzzling Refrigerators, and put 2 MERCURY 300'S on it? There is a 32 on the Island set up with twin 300's. Boat does in the mid 90's I believe. As far as putting in I/O's. I believe the gas tank placement is different for the outboard, compared to the I/O model. Call Coen, 631-226-1761.

Looks like Sweden

Cat32 02-08-2014 06:47 AM

Its not Sweden, the boat is in Croatia and it was bought for $40,000 US but with one broked engine (in the middle). http://s21.postimg.org/9ak5umul3/GOPR0520.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/nr7f97k2f/GOPR0521.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/cc6cquic7/GOPR0522.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/99a817srb/GOPR0524.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/hov74z68n/GOPR0526.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/h9jxbykbb/GOPR0527.jpg

Both great looking boats, love seeing so much Long Island representation in Croatia . My recommendation....scrap the three evinrudes and go to twins with newer motors. Definitely call coen on those old 300s, he has a lot of knowledge on them and probably some recommendations on making the lowers more reliable if you decide to keep them

OCCJoe 02-08-2014 08:44 AM

CAT32 I would think that you could loose the old power and pick up a pair of 300xs's and come out way ahead . You wouldn't have all the labor and cost of doing an inboard swap . Plus you would loose a 1000lbs and still have 600 to 700 hp on the back . I'm pretty sure the hull is the same as my Cobra cat and I've broke into the 80's with a pair of 250's .
But I get where your coming from because there's nothing like the noise and attention of a big block and I can't tell you how many times I looked down in the bilge of my boat and wondered how I could get a pair of inboards in there .

vbot24 02-08-2014 09:59 AM

So you wrapped your progression boat and put pantera on the fairing?? Why?

Progression is a better built boat and Panteras are built by thieves!!

And is that a 27 or 24 progression?

But definitely cool that you ended up with two Long Island based boats all the way in Croatia. Now just add a kryptonite, activator, and hustler too your stable and you'll have them all

elvisali 02-08-2014 06:01 PM

Was this the old "American Express"? Look alot alike

CAT32 - I have a set of counter rotated 1992 Evinrude 300XP v-8s that I am thinking about selling. They are on a center console boat I just bought. The compression was just checked and everything looks great on them. I'm only thinking about the fuel consumption as we will be putting a lot of time on them. I'm not even knowledgeable about what they are worth value-wise. If you are interested, email me back and lets talk. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater
