30 Superboat
I looked a 1982 30 Superboat Tempast today. It looks like it was born a single BBC with Merc trans and a TRS. Than an twin outboards. Now single BBC with Bravo. It's been painted and sides and deck look very good, cockpit interior in good condition. The cabin is has no cushions or headliner, basically cabin is stripped. Needs a to be re rigged, dash wiring and engine compartment. But looks useable at this time. Any Superboat guys have any idea what a 30 Tempast would be worth at that age and condition.

15K give or take a couple either way based on trailer , condition/hours on motor and drive . Everyone is gonna say its worth what someone is willing to pay bla bla bla ! BS ! Hull is worth 5K then just start adding the price of the parts on it . Trailer $2500, Bravo $1500, complete BBC $4000, trim tabs $$$ Bolsters $$$ ,ect ect . Thats what an older boat is worth these days ..

When I bought mine it did 94 so I set a goal of 100 . When I hit it I moved my goal to 105 and I hit 107 so now Im thinking I want to hit the 110 mark . The best part is I did it all with the NA Motor dave at MDG built for the boat in 07 . |
It's gone faster then when first rigged. And Power is Power ! Be it big cubes or Supercharged. You picked up over 10 MPH going from the Conrad and trans to a Bravo ? That's Big ! I do agree with you at the bottom of every post ! SPEED COST !
|
No the bravo was only about 3 or 4 mph gain. The biggest gain was the day I realized the steps weren't super Efficient for speed so found a little trick while driving that really made the boat fast. So I guess you could say there's nothing better for a driver then seat time

I totally understand seat time. When I sold my 28 Pantera I actually became very friendly with the new owner from showing him how to run the boat. And that only went just over 80. That was like 1998 and were still good friends. It would be great if that happens again.
