Pat McPherson 08-12-2016 02:20 PM

Nice boat! You've made lots of nice upgrades over the years...

ndaniels 08-13-2016 06:19 PM

What's the cabin like? Bare carpet, or the deluxe version?

z.zuperboat 08-13-2016 06:41 PM

Cabin Lol. When I got the boat it didn't even have a cabin door . That's why I put the Y2K step in . Never had carpet Bare gel coat . It does have a full set of cushions . It's a lite weight designed to go fast.

Dave M 08-15-2016 10:58 AM

Looks great! Good luck with the sale.

z.zuperboat 08-16-2016 07:05 AM

Thanks Dave You've been down this road . People want to know your bottom number with out even looking at it or going for a ride. I've gotten responses like exotic power n to much for me to ever have big power in it !! It's great !!

I think I might have said something like that to you a few years back.

YES! Selling a boat is a big pain in the azzz.

z.zuperboat 08-18-2016 05:03 PM

I have had some prop kickers I guess you could say. Almost every one starts with Tempests did have step Bottoms! The boat has a 3 foot notch !! I say No. 3 steps and a 9 inch notch. Kind of afraid to sell it to someone who doesn't have a clue on what there really buying .

ezrizer 08-21-2016 08:45 PM

Is that the 30 that MRD rigged back in 99 with a 750 that went 100 right out of the box !!

z.zuperboat 08-22-2016 06:18 AM

Yes Why Yes it is ! Same boat ! The boat was sold before it was dialed in with propeller technology from 99. Went to Utah and I acquired it in 2001 . Had an Bravo on it that broke the lower then the upper then broke the prop shaft . Switched to the speedmaster for maintenance free boating . Did loose between 5-7 MPH switching . Bravo technology along with prop technology has come a long way in 15 years. Going back would add the same another 5-7 maybe more with today's P-5 props or a Herring ! Guess my point is if you took my motor and put it in another 30 super with a bravo set up it wouldn't be as fast as mine with a Speedy . John built a really great Boat!!

I always loved this boat please post pics old and new if you have some.
So you are the second owner? I remember a pic of a newer 30 superboat with a bravo in a "hot boat" mag which would have been a west coast boat, pic looked like it was in Havasu. Thought it had a blower sitting out of hatch before...this is yours? Redone with a speed master 4 or 5. I remember "media master", the west coast tempest, and yours being newer ones, but yours and the west coast boat are 1 in the same? You brought it back to NY?
I remember a newer 21 in AZ too.... Not too many superboats out west, that's why it caught my eye great boats!

z.zuperboat 08-23-2016 06:04 AM

Yup same boat from Havasu ! The article was in the April 2000 Poker Runs America Magazine . The magazine is in with the stack of paper work I have with the boat. NY Craigslist has Pics

Too funny
I haven't been on in awhile in general
Just happen to see "tempest" in this section....
It caught my eye
Always liked these boats after seeing a few in person
Is Superboat still around and building?

Yup, I spend less time on boat forums these days and talk Donzis for the most part. The Zuperboat is a special case though...gotta follow what happens/where she goes next...

Is it a Tempest deck on a Y2K hull?

Yes
Only one made,
I think.

z.zuperboat 08-25-2016 07:35 AM

From What I was told years ago. John made 2 Tempests with the Y2K bottom ! 1 outboard that was in Florida last I heard and my I/O. Don't know if the outboard is a lite weight race layup also ! I think the 3 foot notched boats were long gone.

Dang if I wasn't trying to buy a house Id be all over that, love the y2k performance but don't really care for the deck, this is perfect

z.zuperboat 10-06-2016 02:51 PM

Thank You !! Be like every other American and put the price of the boat into the house! Or at closing when they offer you refi money because the house is always worth more then you pay for them !!

I recall doing exactly that when I tried to pry her away from you back in 07 or 08. Ended up buying a Velocity 280; owned that boat for 5 years before down sizing to my 22 Donzi and buying the CC for the kids...

Some day Mike... Hey I saw that older Tempest I/O from a far at the CT river run... Didn't go take a close up for fear I'd make an offer... Scott and Christine (30' Super twin outboards) went and check her out...

z.zuperboat 10-21-2016 02:13 PM

I did see a video of the 30 I/O Looked real good! Someone is going to suck up that boat! There's none of these boats around . One web site has a bunch of them but they never remove anything from their Web site. There's a 30 on there that sold years ago !! Me not a big fan of the outboards! Muscle boats need to sound like a drag car not a helicopter. You pull in with a rumbling supercharged big block they look to see who's driving ! With an outboard they ask how did you get here !!

My 24SB has a gel liner, bed cushions, and seats on each side. It can't be less bare bones than that I'd think? We spend the night on it from time to time anchored out in coves. How bare bones is it under the deck?

Surprised it hasn't sold yet.

Dave M 11-06-2016 10:51 AM

That's the best thing about Superboat cabins. You can clean them with a hose if you had too.
