2 fuel tanks in a 30' Tempest

Hi guys, as I continue to work towards getting our boat together I'm working on replacing the fuel lines and have a question as to what size the fuel tanks might be or if each one was different? I have one in front and one in the back with transfer pumps rigged to move the fuel back and forth. The back from Florida Marine Tanks but unfortunately the spot where it says capacity is impossible to read. Anybody have any experience vs the old tried and true fill it up and see?

Well, I crawled under the deck and measured the "footprint" of the front tank. Looks like it's 7' long, 2' wide (between the stringers) with an unknown depth. Hopefully some of the gang that built and rigged this boat can recall. The back tank label is hard to read but it does say "tested capacity" of 100 gallons.

L x W x H. Then convert to gallons. 231ci per gallon.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm blown away as I know the front tank is 7 feet long and fits between the stringers which are approximately 2 feet apart. Knowing that and assuming the tank is just 12" deep, that comes out to 100 gallons. I know this boat is a little different that many Superboats but assuming that the rear tank is 100 gallons based on the tag saying "100 gallon tested capacity" and the dimensions of the front tank suggesting that it could be 100 gallons, I'm lost. Did Superboat ever build a 200 gallon capacity 30' boat? I'm going to have to tag the gang and try to find out.

Never see that much fuel in a tempest. Most I have seen is 80 - 90 gallons.

Thanks. I was talking with Jeff (Freezeframe) and he mentioned the same thing as you but surmised that they probably used the front tank for ballast which makes sense since it has a couple electric transfer pumps to move fuel back and forth between the tanks.

My tank holds exactly 88 gallons and goes about 1ft into the cabin .

Thanks for the reply and measurements. On mine, the rear tank is mounted about 2' from the transom and extends forward somewhere under the floor. The front tank extends from the dash/kickboard to one of the front bulkheads (approximately 7 feet)

Well, my wife (with much better eyes) was able to find and read the tags. Both tanks ended up being 62 gallon tanks built by Florida Marine giving a total of 124 gallons capacity .
