Pat, I am going to Florida on Feb 15th for 8 days. While there, I am going to the Pantera factory for a ride and further negotiation on a 24. At that point, I will decide on the Pantera or the Superboat.
Thanks,
Ken

SUPERBASH 02-01-2004 11:38 AM

Hey fellow Superboaters,
Just wanted to say hello. I have owned 16' & 21's in the past. J.C. is rigging a red/white 24 outboard for me . They are light, fast and indestructible. I rigged a 16 C/C with a V6 and used and abused it without any failure. Your threads gave me a lot of ideas. Pics in the near future.
Ken, go with Superboat.

Dave M 02-01-2004 02:52 PM

Superbash,

Welcome to the forum. Let's see some pics of your rig. You must see a lot of Superboats up there. Just a couple down here in MD.

Will there be more than one Superboat at Superfest this coming Summer?

Hey Zuperboat,
Do you think the Zuperboat and Tripp's tripple V can hold together for a trip East?

It's February, Three Months to go...

Dave M 02-03-2004 06:40 AM

Ut-OH, talking about Superfest again!

Pat McPherson 02-03-2004 11:42 AM

Hey Dave,
Don't think I'll make the run all the way to Babylon again without at least one other boat from the CT river stepping up.
Any time the LI boys want to meet on the East end though, I'll be there.

30SUPER 02-03-2004 11:50 AM

Pat McPherson 02-03-2004 07:56 PM

Hey Tripps,
How's Things?
Have you heard from Peconic?
I have acquired just about everything to rebuild my engine. Just finishing up with remodeling our kitchen.
I'll be tearing into it soon.
Are you helping Mike with his? Sounds like he's going with an old school solid flat tappet cam...

Hey Joe,
I got the pic of your 30'. Sure you don't want to show her off? Looks like a nice ride to me. Send over your 24' and I'll post them in the Boats for Sale Forum.

Representing Town of Babylon, preview.
Tripps, thanx for the welcome. I launch at Tanner Park . I think the ZUPERBOAT does too. I"ll be running into you guys out there.

SUPERSTITIOUS 02-04-2004 06:35 PM

I did happen to notice the plexi wind screen as opposed to the fiberglass fairing. what make you go that way? are you going sit down or drop out bolsters?

SUPERBASH 02-04-2004 06:52 PM

OH-ZONE,
It's not plexi, just black instead of white. Old School. It will be the first sitdown 24.

Pat McPherson 02-04-2004 07:00 PM

Nice Looking Ride SUPERBASH!
What seats are you having installed?
The same as the Y2K?

SUPERBASH 02-04-2004 07:09 PM

Hey Pat,
I'm going with the 21 old style wraparound buckets. I like the way they look and hold you in. In one of the older threads I remembered you guys talking about wanting to sit lower in the 24's. I felt the same way . We'll see how it turns out and I'll let you know how it is. I usually find docking easier standing up in most boats.

Dave M 02-05-2004 05:40 AM

I think those high back buckets like you see on the new Panteras would be cool. Some mods would be required to allow for leg room though.

Pat McPherson 02-05-2004 07:33 PM

If I did my boating on a like, I would defiantly go for sitting. It's a lot more comfortable at high speed.
I like the option of standing when it gets rough though.
Between snow skiing in the bumps and riding in my old Donzi, I think it stunted my growth :D

SUPERBASH 02-06-2004 04:21 PM

Pat, I had the 16C/C that I usually stood, but then I got used to sitting and liked it. I"ll post pics of it as soon as I can figure out why my scanner I just picked up won't scan.
Dave M,
We mocked up the seats I"ll be using in a 24 and there was leg room. What do you think would be different with the Pantera buckets?

Dave M 02-06-2004 06:39 PM

Hey Superbash,

I think the OB model of the 24 has more cockpit space than the I/O. You can probably move the front seats back a little more.

I'll bet with twins it's very stable:D :D :D Tripps

30SUPER 02-09-2004 05:24 PM

Hey Tripps, This is Joe, I just saw your response in the new forum. (I responded there also). I need 2.5 merc 200hp w/ 7 petal reeds. I found out how rare they are trying to buy a re-man last season. I am looking for a back up power-head. The season is too short so if I could find one (or one that will work), I would like it bolt on ready! I even would like to buy a back up drive. Thanks, Joe/30 SUPER.

tripps 02-09-2004 09:57 PM

sUPER,i'LL TALK TO MY FRIEND ABOUT THE POWERHEAD and go to screamandfly .com for a lower, they are there, talk to you later Tripps

Dave M 02-10-2004 05:13 AM

Hey Superbash,

How hard was it to remove your front seats? Are they just lag bolted or is there backing plates under the deck?

SUPERBASH 02-10-2004 02:43 PM

Dave M,
It's a new 24 in the rigging shop. Hasn't had seats installed yet. I'm sure they're lagged in, my 16 and 21's were. We're setting the pedestal height to what I want.

Superbash are you going to thrubolt the seat? Why were the other seats lagged?

I think they would look OK in a y2k

z.zuperboat 02-11-2004 12:25 PM

THOSE WOULD LOOK GOOD IN ANYTHING. HOW MUCH FOR A SET OF THOSE AND HOW LONG TO GET THEM
