Hey 30,what kinda powerheads you lookin for,2.4's or 5'sand the cle's,with the big sidecover or small one. do you run a rite and a left? or 2 rites? I have a good in with a guy who does powerheads,he sells,fixes,and buys them!! Can you change all the stuff on the powerhead,electronics,carbs,etc,then you can save some$ Where are you from? Hey Tripps, I just came across your response just now 2/9/04. My tempest is rigged w/ 1991 merc 2.5's, they are 200h.p. counter rotation. When I popped the starboard motor last season I had a hard time finding any power-heads because the 1991 has 7 petal reeds, which everybody tells me is rare? So I had my mechanic do a rebuild. I am still in the market for a back up. As for the CLE drive they have only 2 low water pick ups on the bullet w/ those cheesy plastic rectangle covers on the side. Oh, I am from the Old Saybrook area, CT. -Joe

Hey super30,those lowers are just fine,thats what I use and there was a cle on ebay that went for 700 with the big cover. I drill and tap the plastic sidecovers and put a 1/4 pipe plug in it for seaweed removal!! On the southshore in my canal you might need it,and it is easier than taking those 4 little screws that don't float out!!!:D :D :D When you are ready for a powerhead let me know,i'll give you my friends # see you at superfest!!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: Tripps

Tripps, I would like to shopping around now. I need to have a back up for this coming season without a doubt, (just in case). I am learning that you can never be to prepared especially after all the B.S of working out all the bugs on my 30 last season. I didn't get in the water until mid August:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: I DEFINITELY NEED TO PREPARE! So I will not have to be out of the water for long ever again!! JOE/30SUPER

I paid 1100. (Ocean Outboard). Sell 800. It is better than any others for sale on scream & fly. Tripps lives very close to me , he can check it out for you.:cool:

I had a 1981 15' Hydrostream Viper. Only had a 115 on it though; she would still do about 55mph. GREAT SKI BOAT!
Sold it for my first off-shore style: 1975 18' Donzi with a 350 and Volvo drive...

This one was registered in Conn. before I got it(still have it). The guy had trim tabs on it! (Guess he was afraid of it.) I GPS'd at 88. :cool:

Superbash, your 15' sure looks like my old one. Mine was all white though.
I saw it for sale last year; it's had 4 owners since I sold it back in 94. Thought about buying it back for a ski boat, but the guy wanted the same I had sold it for 10 years earlier and it needs work...
Should have never sold it, but I had bought my Donzi and was getting married.

I have got two boats in the yard now, if I added another, the wife would kill...

I've done the three boat shuffle. Trailer included. I just put it on S & F. Have you installed or bought the Stainless Marine "No Slack" indicators yet? I have the same idea.:cool:

No, I have not bought the indicators yet.
Need to get some money back from the tax man and figure out cable lengths.
If you do go forward, I would appreciate the cable lengths you come up with...
